Mount Gilead State Park sits on more than 181 acres, and 32 of those acres are taken up by Mount Gilead Lake. Whether you're looking to hike, bike, camp, fish, or just relax, this is the place to be! Seven trails in the park total more than six miles, and as long as your dog is on a leash, they're welcome to join you on the trails. Other fun activities in Mount Gilead State Park include the disc golf course, volleyball, basketball, and shuffleboard courts, and a 200-seat amphitheater that can be rented for different functions. Other areas of Kennedy Park have sports courts and fields, playgrounds, and picnic areas. Your dog can accompany you throughout the rest of the park if they're on a leash.

Mutt's Paradise AmuseMutt Park and Dog Training Center is a private, six-acre dog park that is pawfect for dogs who need their own space. If your dog doesn't do well in a typical dog park, this park is a great alternative. For just $10 an hour per dog, you can rent the park for your dog to enjoy all by themselves! The Brooksedge Park Bark Park has three separate sections: one for big dogs, one for small dogs, and a third section that is rotated to allow the grass to regrow. Within the park, there are lots of shaded seating areas, as well as drinking water for dogs, waste disposal supplies, and plenty of toys to chase. Your dog can also join you in many other areas of Brooksedge Park as long as they remain on a leash.

    There's another excellent dog park in Delaware, Ohio and this one is in the city's southwestern quadrant, which is less than an hour from Mount Gilead. The Companion Club Dog Park has more than 12 acres of space for your dog to explore, and in that area, there are agility courses and even a dog beach! If your pet happens to get messy while you're there, there's also a dog wash station to clean them up. As an added safety measure, the park has double-gated entryways. There's drinking water, seating, and doggy bags in the park, and a membership is required.
