More than 3,500 people live in the village of Mount Gilead in Morrow County, Ohio, and it was incorporated in 1839. The village is known for its charming small-town, rural atmosphere as well as its rich historical background. Not only are there several residential areas in town, but there are also thriving businesses, great schools, and all sorts of public services. Mount Gilead State Park sits on more than 181 acres, and 32 of those acres are taken up by Mount Gilead Lake. Whether you're looking to hike, bike, camp, fish, or just relax, this is the place to be! Seven trails in the park total more than six miles, and as long as your dog is on a leash, they're welcome to join you on the trails. Other fun activities in Mount Gilead State Park include the disc golf course, volleyball, basketball, and shuffleboard courts, and a 200-seat amphitheater that can be rented for different functions. You and your dog are going to have a blast exploring Mount Gilead and all of the nearby dog-friendly activities!
