With picturesque scenery and pawsome trails, it’s easy to see why pups and their people love visiting the Smith Rock State Park in Terrebonne’s namesake neighborhood! About eight miles from Crooked River Ranch, this state recreation area provides several hiking trails where leashed dogs are welcome. The 1.5-mile Canyon Trail will take you and Fido along the stunning Crooked River where river otters can often be seen splashing and playing. Alongside the river, steep rock formations tower overhead, creating a spectacular backdrop for you and your pup’s walk through this high desert paradise. There’s a small fee for parking and cleanup baggies at the trailhead for your convenience.

NW Canal Blvd
Looking for off-leash fun? Visit Redmond’s Northwest Canal Boulevard! About 13 miles from Crooked River Ranch, this neighborhood is where you and your pup will find the Weigand Family Dog Park, a woofderful, fully enclosed off-leash area! This large, grass and dirt surface dog park has tons of open space where your dog can romp and roam. The park is lined with trees and shrubs, so there’s tons to smell, too! Smaller dogs can enjoy a separate area specifically for pint-sized pups, plus there’s a fur-iendly drinking fountain. If you’re in the mood for some exercise too, leash your pooch and take a walk on the four-mile Dry Canyon Trail that runs adjacent to the park! The trail will connect you to several other area parks like Kiwanis Field and Spudbowl City Park.

Glacier Vista
Take a stroll down the woofderful stretch of the four-mile Dry Canyon Trail in Redmond’s Glacier Vista neighborhood and see some of the area’s best parks! About 13 miles from Crooked River Ranch, this neighborhood’s Sam Johnson Park is a pawsome place for you and your leashed dog to start your walking tour! This beautiful community park has tons of open grass where you and your pooch can romp, plus lots of shady trees, picnic tables and a playground. Next, head south on the trail to American Legion Park where you and your pooch will have a blast exploring the large grassy amphitheater. Just a quick stroll further south, Kalama City Park and Baker City Park are also located just a couple blocks off the trail. With so many puptastic green spaces and a trail that connects them, your pooch may never want to leave this furrific Redmond neighborhood!

Looking for a great park that both your pup and your kids will love? Head to Redmond’s Northwest 10th Street neighborhood, about 13 miles from Crooked River Ranch! This lovely residential area’s pawsome Quince Park will make your pooch’s tail wag and your kiddos squeal with delight! You’ll find a big open grassy area perfect for playtime with Fido or a picnic with the whole gang, a playground and a stroller-friendly .37-mile path around the perimeter of the park. Bring a blanket and enjoy some quality time with your two and four-legged children beneath the shade of one of the park’s woofderful mature trees. Quince Park has restrooms, picnic tables and a drinking fountain.

Canyon Rim
Whether you’re looking for a cool canine hangout or a place to stretch your legs, you’ll find both in Redmond’s Canyon Rim neighborhood, about 13 miles from Crooked River Ranch! This beautiful residential neighborhood’s West Canyon Rim City Park is a great place to chill out with your leashed pup. There’s lots of lush grass where you two can play, relax or train, and plenty of shady trees. The park also has restrooms, a drinking fountain and a playground. Best of all, the park’s walking path connects to the paved four-mile Dry Canyon Trail that runs just to the east! It’s a pawsome trail for getting some exercise with Fido at your side!
