The trail also passes by Foster Memorial Park’s soccer and baseball fields. Bring water and doggy bags for your pup, and enjoy spending a few hours hiking here. If all that hiking makes you hungry, head over to The Cozy Grille. This casual restaurant welcomes dogs on its outdoor deck which faces picturesque Lake Tiogue. While you admire the view, you can dine on burgers, paninis, salads, soups, and more.

Looking for a pawsitively great off-leash dog run for your pup? Check out Warwick City Dog Park, which is just nine miles from Coventry. This dog park offers separate areas for big and small dogs to play in. Both areas feature large fields that your pup will love frolicking in, and there are benches for owners to relax on while their dog plays. Bring water for your pup, and enjoy playing with them here! After the dog park, continue your fun day out with your pup with lunch at Boneyard Barbeque & Saloon. Located 21 miles from Coventry, this dog park has separate areas for big and small dogs to play in. Both areas are fenced and double-gated, and there plenty of trees to keep the park cool in summer. If your dog gets thirsty, water is available in the park. If you want to get a sweet treat after the dog park, check out Teas and Javas. This café has six dog-friendly outdoor tables and serves delicious pastries, sandwiches, and salads. Bring your dog their own tasty treat, and enjoy having a snack with your furry best friend.

If you want to go on a long hike with your dog, head over to John H. Chaffe Nature Preserve. This bayside preserve is 21 miles from Coventry, and it welcomes dogs on-leash. One of the most popular trails in the park is the Rome Point Trail. This mostly flat, 2.4-mile loop trail takes you through the woods and then onto the beach, where you’ll be able to walk along the water with your pup! Along the trail, there are plenty of benches where you and your dog can sit and enjoy the view. Bring some water and doggy bags with you, and enjoy spending the day in this lovely preserve.

South Kingstown’s Wakefield-Peacedale neighborhood is home to the always-fun South Kingstown Dog Park. This dog park is 24 miles from Coventry, and it includes separate areas for big and small dogs. Both areas include huge grassy fields where your dog can frolic and play to their heart’s content. If they get thirsty after all that frolicking, water is available. Want to get a bite to eat after the dog park? Check out TwoTen Oyster Bar & Grill. This seafood spot welcomes dogs on its outdoor patio, and the wait staff will bring your pup a water bowl. As your dog enjoys their water, you can dine on classic New England seafood dishes, like clam chowder, lobster rolls, and baked Atlantic cod.
