“Keeping your pets safe and happy are my goals!”

I recently moved to South Carolina from Southern California. I have grown up with and been around dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I own two dogs myself, one is a senior and both are rescues. My younger dog is very strong so I can work with dogs who may pull. I love being outside and meeting new dogs and learning about all their little unique quirks and talents. I also enjoy catching your dogs best angles and funny faces in photos!

My name is Aidan and I am currently a student at MUSC in Charleston, SC. Although I grew up with four cats and no dogs I regularly looked after my friends and neighbors dogs while in middle and high school. Sometimes I would take the dogs for a walk and just hang out with them for hours after that because I enjoyed it so much. I love to meet new pets and have great confidence that your dog and I will get along just fine!

“Stronger than I look”

Helping animals has always been an important value and passion of mine. Whether it’s volunteering at the animal shelter, donating food and toys or fostering a dog in search of a forever home, I always look for opportunities to help however I can. Every dog is unique and special and I love getting to know their personalities and building a bond with them. I hope to meet your best friend soon!

“I’m already obsessed with your dog”

Hi, I'm Shelagh (Shayla)! I’ve lived in DC for 5 years and have loved volunteering at WARL and Howl to the Chief w/Rural Dog Rescue since moving here. I’ve been caring for dogs professionally since January 2016 and grew up with two labs. I’m a full-time management consultant with a flexible schedule. I love dogs of all breeds and personalities. I can't have a dog of my own yet, so I truly love spending time with your dog (and running with them if they need!).

Dog Walking in Kiawah Island

Kiawah Island is a barrier island just off the Eastern Coast, 25 miles southwest of Charleston, South Carolina. With scenic views of the beautiful Atlantic Ocean, as well as plenty of award-winning golf courses which the city is known for, it’s easy to see why one would want to spend their time in this South Carolina dreamscape. Best of all, it has a number of fun things to do with your doggy, both in the immediate area and in the nearby city of Charleston.

Take your pup to Kiawah Beachwalker Park, an expansive public beach available for you and your precious pup to explore. Here, you'll find a snack bar where chairs and umbrellas can be rented as well. Keep your leashed pup on hand while making your way to the off-leash beach area for doggies. Be sure to keep an eye on where the off-leash area ends and begins, because there can be a pretty hefty fine if you let doggy in an area they shouldn’t be! You and your pal aren’t rule breakers, though, are you?

Kiawah Island and its surrounding areas are just perfect for resting, relaxing, and making un-fur-gettable memories with your pup!

Your guide may even tell you a special story about a ghost hound who walks the streets of Charleston at night. That’s pretty spooky, but you’re not afraid of ghosts, right? Finally, you absolutely have to take your darling doggy to arguably one of the best dog parks in Charleston. James Island County Park has everything you could ask for and more when it comes to your canine companion. There is a dog beach, grassy areas to roam, as well a smaller fenced-in area for small breed dogs to play freely off their leashes. You’ll need to bring some fresh water and possibly your collapsible water bowl (better safe than sorry), but doggy waste bags are provided or you at the location. Your dog is sure to have a ball at this bark -- er, park!
