The Oakland Town Park has a 1300-foot paved walking trail just waiting for you and your pup to get your leash and go walking. The trail takes you around a pond which is stocked with fish. Your pup is sure to enjoy a sniff-tastic adventure at the water's edge as he plays with the fish, or takes a plunge to cool off on a hot summer's day. When traveling to Oakland, stay at the Oakland Inn, a dog-friendly hotel. Oakland Inn welcomes up to two small pups for an additional fee per night to stay in your room.

Peterson Lake
Take a pawsome walk in H.W. Cox Park in Collierville, just 22 miles from Oakland. The park has a puptastic walking trail that leads to the Collierville Greenbelt system, allowing you to walk all the way to the W.C. Johnson Park. Your pup will have no limits of choices for sniff-tastic exercise. Sport fields, tennis courts, and playgrounds are also available in the park, making this is a perfect spot for the whole family. Bring along a picnic for a pawsome day. East Stonebridge
Just eighteen miles from Oakland in Lakeland is the Zadie E. Kuehl Memorial Park. This three-acre park has a rolling surface and landscaping that is very inviting. Plenty of trees and open space is an enticing playground for your pup. The park offers a dog-tastic 1/5-mile paved trail that's perfect for a great leashed walk. Drinking fountains are and play structures are available here. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the pavilion, or out under one of the beautiful trees near the grills before heading home.

Only 26 miles from Oakland in Germantown, the Cameron Brown Park features excellent playgrounds, a picturesque walking path, and a small pond. Your pup will be delighted with a leashed walk on the path and the opportunity to check out that puptastic pond where he can tease the fish from the bank, or wade in on a hot summer's day. The park has plenty of recreational opportunities for the whole family. Bring along a picnic lunch or dinner, and have a BBQ at one of the convenient picnic tables. The park is particularly beautiful in the fall when the leaves are changing.
Grove Park
Grove Park is just 24 miles from Oakland in Germantown. This dog-tastic park is a great place for a nature walk while getting some good exercise for your pooch. There are benches along the walkway in case you need a short rest before Fido does. Benches are also located near the lake so your pup can explore the water's edge. Your pup will wag-it-like-he-means-it for a round of fetch in the grassy areas after his walk, or an opportunity to explore among the underbrush and trees throughout the park.
