Timbers

Timbers

Germantown’s Timbers neighborhood is home to Forgey Dog Park. This off-leash dog park features plenty of room for your pup to run around and burn off some energy. There’s also plenty of seating for dog parents, a separate area for small dogs, and water bowls for Fido, so he can stay hydrated while playing and making new friends! Waste disposal bags are not provided, so you’ll need to bring your own. This dog park requires a small membership fee be paid in order to keep the park up and running.

Eastern Germantown

Eastern Germantown

If you’re looking for somewhere to eat with your pup, head to the Eastern side of Germantown. Soul Fish Café says it serves up classic southern cuisine alongside delicious seafood dishes, and if you’re in the mood to dine outside, Fido can join you at one of the many patio tables. If southern dishes aren’t your thing, try Russo’s NY Pizzeria. This restaurant serves up delicious slices of pizza, and Fido can join you at any of their patio tables. A leash is required at both restaurants, as is good behavior. The real question is: Can you resist the puppy-dog eyes? Bone Appetit!

Shelby Farms

Shelby Farms

Located 15 minutes north of Germantown is Memphis’s Shelby Farms Park, and if your dog enjoys exploring, he’ll be begging for a trip to this popular park. Although Shelby Farms Park does have several walking trails where your dog can join you – as long as he’s on a leash – that might not even be your dog’s favorite part! This park also has a special section just for dogs, where they can run around leash-free. Your dog might not want to go home! Make sure to keep an eye on your four-legged friend, though; snakes are sometimes attracted to the grassy area.

Cordova Creek

Cordova Creek

Twenty minutes north of Germantown is Cordova Creek, which has a few restaurants where your pet can join you while you eat. Humdinger’s is a popular little spot that serves up classics, such as chicken tender meals. Your dog can join you at one of the outdoor tables, but seating is limited. After grabbing dinner at Humdinger’s, head over to Sonic Drive-In and grab something sweet! Maybe your dog can convince you to get him a small vanilla cup, which some Sonic Drive-Ins call a “pup cup.” Both restaurants require that your dog be on a leash at all times.

Collierville, located just 10 miles from Germantown, offers some pretty sweet places to eat with Fido, including Donut Hutt! Donut Hutt is a local bakery that serves up fresh donuts every day. They have two outdoor tables where Fido can join you while you chow down on donuts of your choice, and you can definitely have your pick; this local favorite offers over forty varieties of donuts. Can you avoid the temptation of giving your dog one? Stop by and put yourself to the test! A leash is required, as is good behavior.
