Round Top is a small town just south of Carmine, Texas. This little village is home to the Bistro Napoletana, a popular dive for dog walking locals. The bistro welcomes dogs at its outdoor tables and serves a variety of delicious food. From crab cakes to pizza and burgers, paired with a cold beverage and some homemade dessert, this pup-friendly eatery is all the rage regardless of the season. The restaurant is only open Thursdays through Sundays, so keep that in mind if you are planning a visit to Round Top with your pooch on a weekend. Don't forget to bring a water bowl for your doggie dinner date.

Central Carmine

Carmine is a small town with a big heart. If you enjoy nature, you will find the quiet charm of Carmine helps you get back in touch with your calmer self. The Carmine Muehlbrad-Albers City Park is a beautiful green park with rolling hills and sparkling trees that glisten in the sunlight during the spring and summer months. You will find plenty of room to enjoy the weather while visiting this local park, whether you are playing fetch on the grass or resting on a park bench while you watch the local wildlife and take in all of the fresh air.

North Brenham

North Brenham is a rural neighborhood in busy Brenham, Texas. This neighborhood is worth the drive from Carmine if you are looking for a fenced-in dog park where your pup can run around and have some safe, off-leash fun. Animal Friends Dog Park is on the northern side of Brenham, a short drive from the downtown Historic District, and just twenty minutes from Carmine. This park is a pawesome place to get some exercise while training your dog for off-leash behavior and making plenty of puptastic new friends! Just keep some waste bags and treats in your pocket.

North Burton

North Burton is nestled on the banks of Somerville Lake, a short drive from Carmine. It is a blend of rural real estate and nature parks, both of which make it the pawfect place for dog lovers who want some room to grow. Rocky Creek Park is a puptastic place for picnics. The park has walking trails that go through wooded areas and up to the shores of the lake. You will also find Yengua Creek Park on the other side of the lake is an amazing spot for you to explore with your dog on a clear weekend afternoon. Just don't forget your doggy waste bags!

Quarry

Quarry is an unincorporated community just thirty minutes from Carmine. You will find the trip is well worth it if you want access to lakes and parks on a quiet weekend morning. You can take your leashed dog to Overlook Park, where the views of Lake Somerville are some of the best in the area. The lake can get crowded during the warmer months, so be sure to check in with your dog and keep an eye on his stress levels while you are out making new puppy pals together. You will want plenty of waste bags and some cool drinking water for the trip.
