Spring Hill

Spring Hill

The Spring Hill Park is a great place to work off some energy with your dog. Most of the area in the park is set aside for sports fields. This actually works in your favor, as it creates long, looping paths through the park. You can pick a direction and start walking, and you’ll wind up back where you started after covering a lot of ground! Your dog will have to stay on leash in the park. If there are games running, Spring Hill Park can be crowded, so be sure to plan ahead if you know your dog doesn’t appreciate cheering crowds!

Downtown Longview

Downtown Longview

Teague Park is a pupular downtown hotspot that lets you step out of the bustle of Longview and into nature. The park is popular due to its walking trails and small playground thats perfect for the little humans in your life. Your dog is going to prefer the short hiking trail. It gets down through some trees and helps you feel like you’re far away from the city.  Pups have to stay on leash inside the park. There are plenty of drinking fountains and amenities, but bring a bowl for your dog, since they don’t have any dog fountains.

North Longview

North Longview

Hinsley Park in North Longview is a wooded park that has a few attractions. Beside the playground, they have a disc golf course, sports field, and sheltered picnic tables. Hinsley Park is a hit during the hot summer months when a picnic is called for, but sitting in the blistering sun isn’t. Leashed dogs are welcome to walk the golf course or enjoy the open, grassy sprawl around the picnic tables. If you’d rather dine in than picnic, head to North Longview’s Cowboy Chicken. This restaurant serves amazing Texas-style BBQ, and has an ample patio seating to accommodate you and your dog.

West Longview

West Longview

Stragent Dog Park is a great place to let your dog run free. It’s also a bit of a secret. The dog park is located a few hundred yards down the Paul Boorman Trail, so it’s not visible from the trailhead. The park has separate areas for large and small dogs, doggie water fountains, and room to roam! West Longview has a gem in it for everyone who loves to go out to eat, but hates leaving their dog behind: Casa Ole. This popular restaurant welcomes dogs to outdoor, patio tables. They serve a variety of classic Mexican and pure Tex-Mex dishes, so there’s bound to be something for everyone.

South Longview

South Longview

Stamper Park is an archaeological site that has been converted into fun for the whole family. While kids will love the playground and splash pad, canine family members will prefer the wide fields around the picnic areas. These spaces offer plenty of room to work off some energy! Your dog should remain on leash in the park, so you’ll have to work off some energy too. The space is great for a BBQ or other summer fun activity. The popularity of this South Longview spot means shy dogs may be overwhelmed by crowds during the weekend, or after school lets out.
