If you want to hike or jog in a peaceful park, take a nine-mile drive north to Mountain Peak Community Park in Midlothian. There are open fields, a mixed-use trail, and picnic tables in this ten-acre facility. Stretch your legs and share a meal with your four-footed friend here. Dogs are permitted to join you in the park provided that you keep them on a leash up to six feet long and you pick up their waste.

West Country Meadows

The remote neighborhood of West Country Meadows consists of private residences in a country setting. Here, you and Fido will be able to take long walks along quiet streets. Plan a day in the park with your pup and head about ten miles northeast of Maypearl to Lions Park in Waxahachie. This 28-acre recreational facility includes practice fields, a playground, open spaces, and a picnic area. Wander through the fields or play some frisbee with your pup, then enjoy a snack at one of the tables. Leashed dogs are allowed in the park. Make sure you bring along some water and waste bags.

Country Acres

As the name implies, Country Acres is a small rural development located north of downtown Maypearl. Here, you and your canine companion will have ample space to hike past farm fields and prairie land. If you want to take your special pal on a walk or jog through woods and grassland, head 13.5 miles north to Mockingbird Nature Park. This 71+ acre area includes a pawtastic nature trail, butterfly garden, and pond. Wander among the trees and fields with your pup. Dogs are welcome to come here as long as they're kept on a leash. Remember to bring along some water and waste bags to clean up any messes.

Old Maypearl Road, located east of the Lakeview Camp and Retreat Center, is a country neighborhood with private residences. You can take Fido for walks along peaceful lanes in this area. If you're looking for a little outdoor adventure, head about 9.5 miles northeast to Getzendaner Park on South Grand Avenue in Waxahachie. This facility is 33 acres and includes open spaces with shade trees and a hike and bike trail. You and your pooch can go for a walk or jog through the park and grab a picnic together. Dogs on a leash are permitted here as long as you clean up after them.
Creekview Circle

Creekview Circle

Creekview Hills is a small development just east of the downtown area. In this neighborhood, you can walk your dog by Wilemon Lake. If you're looking for a place to get some exercise with your pup, take a 12.4-mile drive northeast from here to Chapman Park in Waxahachie. This 13-acre park includes a one-mile walking trail that loops through the facility and follows Little Creek. Dogs are welcome to join you here as long as you keep them on a leash and under control. Make sure you bring some water and a few waste bags to pick up any droppings.
