“ALL dogs allowed! Every dog is the best dog ❤”
I have had dogs all my life, I have always loved them. I got involved in rescue over 10 years ago and have been fortunate to help and love many dogs. Being able to care for them and see them transform from the sick, scared, or abused (often all of those) dogs into healthy, loving babies is so rewarding. They are so loving, and deserve the very best we can do for them!

Lancaster is a lively city just twenty-five minutes from Dallas. Lancaster's nickname is the "The City of Trees," so it comes as no surprise that this city is home to beautiful green spaces which are pawfect for exploring with your pup! With plenty of outdoor activities for you and your dog to choose from, it is no wonder that Lancaster is increasingly popular with families with fur-babies.
You can take your dog for a weekend adventure at the Bear Creek Nature Park. This park has walking paths and hiking trails to meet any dog or human's needs and entertain you both for hours. Just don't forget to bring plenty of water and waste bags with you to help keep this area beautiful.
There is one animal hospital in Lancaster and five more in the surrounding towns. This makes finding the pawfect care for your pup a breeze no matter the situation. You will need to keep your pup safely on a leash while making your way around Lancaster. There are lots of other friendly pups living in the city, so sharing the sidewalk is an absolute must whether you are just going for a quick walk or heading to the park for some fun.
Twenty-five minutes from Lancaster, on the outskirts of Dallas, is the pupperific neighborhood of Pleasant Grove. You will find that Crawford Memorial Park is a lovely place for a picnic. It is located near the highway, so it's a great stop on your way home from doggy daycare. The Saint Augustine Park is another park right in the middle of Pleasant Grove where you can enjoy a game of fetch or tug-of-war with your pooch. Make sure you have some waste bags included with your supplies. Your dog won't complain if there are some doggy snacks in there too for those quiet moments!
Central Lancaster is home to the incredibly pupular Lancaster Community Park. This is the pawfect spot to enjoy a picnic with your canine companion, so pack a blanket and some snacks for a day of fun in the sun with your pupperific pal! This park also offers sports fields, a library, walking trails, and a playground. You will want to bring plenty of drinking water for both you and your dog. A collapsible bowl for your dog is always a great idea when traveling. Some tennis balls for those impromptu games of fetch are always a great idea, too, and don't forget the waste bags!
Westridge is a quiet Lancaster neighborhood with plenty of green spaces available to you and your dog if you keep the leash on and are careful to clean up after yourselves before you leave. Jaycee Park is one of the dog-friendly parks where you can take your time throwing around a Frisbee or finding a great stick to play fetch with. The trees here make picking a fetching stick a breeze, especially if your dog likes to pick her own! Tiger Field is another great option if you want to spend some time with your dog getting some exercise together when there isn't a game going on.
Brownlee Park is a neighborhood in Lancaster where you will find plenty of green parks to sniff out with your dog on a nice day. Cederdale Park is one place where you can go if you want to play a game of fetch or roll out a blanket for a picnic. The park is open to families, so make sure your dog is comfortable around other dogs and children if you plan on visiting during the warmer months. The J.A. Dewberry Park is another family-friendly park where well-behaved pups are more than welcome to walk around and enjoy the scenery.
Ten Mile Creek is home to the Ten Mile Creek Preserve. The preserve is full of walking trails and hiking spots, so you will want to pack a backpack full of water and snacks for the adventure. Your dog will be grateful if you have a harness for the trickier paths, along with a sturdy leash to keep him comfortably close. Your dog should be comfortable around other dogs and ready to mingle with hikers that you come across. You will also want to bring some waste bags in order to keep the trails clean and clear for the next group of explorers.
