East Ovilla Road
This Red Oak neighborhood is home to Pearson Park, a great place to take your pup for a walk on-leash. This park has a flat and paved walking trail that's easy for your dog to walk on. As you walk along this trail, you’ll get beautiful views of the park’s lake. Bring some doggy bags, and have a woof-derful time walking here with your dog. After your walk, treat yourself and your pup to lunch at Mamacita’s Restaurant. This restaurant has four dog-friendly outdoor tables, and they serve flavorful Tex-Mex cuisine, including fajitas, tacos, quesadillas, enchiladas, and more!

Want to let your dog run around off-leash? Head over to Main Street Garden Urban Dog Run in Downtown Dallas. This dog run is in Main Street Garden Park, about 20 miles from Red Oak, and it has one fenced-in area where your dog can run around. There are also a few benches for owners to sit on while their dogs play, and there’s a doggy water fountain available. If you want to get a snack with your dog when they’re done playing, check out Sundown at Granada. This restaurant has an eclectic menu filled with farm-to-table offerings, including flatbreads, classic burgers, flavorful fish dishes, and more. Dogs are welcome on Sundown at Granada’s spacious patio.

Bear Creek Road
If you want to get out into nature with your dog, head to Bear Creek Nature Park, where dogs are welcome on-leash. Located about five miles from Red Oak, this quiet park has 2.5 miles of hiking trails that go through beautiful wooded areas and past scenic Bear Creek. There’s also a lovely butterfly garden in this park. If you’d like to picnic with your pup, there’s a pavilion with eight tables available. Bring your dog some water and some doggy bags, and have a fun day hiking at this tree-filled park.

Dallas’ Arts District has a great off-leash dog area called Man's Best Friend Park. This off-leash park is located within Klyde Warren Park, which is about 19 miles from Red Oak. Here, your pup can make new friends and run around in a fenced-in space that has synthetic turf. The dog park also has fountains that your pup can run through — they’re perfect for those hot Texas days. If your dog gets thirsty, a self-cleaning drinking bowl is available. If playing in this pawesome dog park makes you hungry, head over to nearby Lark on the Park. This restaurant has dog-friendly outdoor tables, and they serve delicious sandwiches, burgers, and fish dishes that change with the season.

East Ridge Park Commercial
For another pawesome off-leash dog park, head over to the 30,000-square-foot Leash Free Zone at Town East Park. This Mesquite park is about 28 miles from Red Oak, and it has two separate areas: one for dogs that weigh less than 30 pounds, and one that’s open to dogs of all sizes. Both areas have grassy fields where your pup can run around with other dogs. While your dog plays, you can relax on the park’s benches. There’s no water fountain in this park, so it’s best to bring your dog’s water bowl with you. Your dog will have a pawsitively amazing time running and playing in this dog park!
