If you want to spend the day in the park with your dog, head to Briarwood Park. This park has a beautiful 0.79-mile multi-purpose trail that goes through lovely wooded areas and past a creek. After your walk, relax with your pup in the park’s gazebo. For another pawesome walking path, check out nearby Zeiger Park. This park offers a 0.76-mile lighted walking trail that goes by the park’s playground and baseball fields. Plus, if you’d like to cook lunch for you and your pup, Zeiger Park has a picnic area with charcoal grills. Dogs are allowed on-leash in both of these neighborhood parks.

This Desoto neighborhood is home to the fun Grimes Park. This 75-acre park has baseball fields and softball fields, and it also has a paved multi-purpose trail where you can walk your pup on-leash. Plus, the park has plenty of picnic tables where you can relax after your walk and enjoy the warm Texas sunshine. After you’re finished with your walk, take your pup for lunch at nearby Ojeda’s Restaurant. This restaurant has a dog-friendly outdoor patio, and serves delicious Tex-Mex fare, including fajitas, enchiladas, tacos, and nachos. You and your pup will both have a great time in this furrific neighborhood!

Dallas’ Deep Ellum neighborhood is home to a great dog park, Bark Park Central. This 1.2-acre dog park is 16 miles from Desoto, and it has a large field where pups can play with each other. It also has doggy water fountains, and there are doggy waste bags available. While your dog is playing, you can admire the colorful murals on the walls around the dog park. When your pup is finished running around, take them for a meal at one of the numerous dog-friendly restaurants near Bark Park Central. If you’re in the mood for thin-sliced Neapolitan pizza, head to Cane Rosso, and grab one of their outdoor tables. Or, if you’re craving tacos, head over to Fuzzy’s Taco Shop and try some of their Tex-Mex dishes.

For another pawesome dog park in Dallas, head to the Old East Dallas neighborhood and check out Meadows Foundation Dog Park. This dog park is 18 miles from Desoto, and it has a large, shady field where dogs can run and play. There’s a wide gap between the bottom of the park’s fence and the ground, so if you have a small dog who likes to explore, be sure to keep an eye on them while you’re here. Bring some water for your dog and a frisbee or tennis ball, and have a fun time at this park! For a tasty lunch after the dog park, try Schlotzsky’s Deli. Sit at one of their five dog-friendly outdoor tables, and enjoy a delicious sandwich or salad. If your pup was a good boy at the park, order him a slice or two of deli meat! 

West Warrior Trail

West Warrior Trail

This Grand Prairie neighborhood is home to the huge Central Bark. Located about 20 miles from Desoto, this park has three separate fenced-in areas: two for large dogs and one for small dogs. One of the large dog areas has an obstacle course for your pup to play in, and there are also doggy water fountains available in the park. If your dog is hungry after all that playing, bring them over to the nearby Starbucks and get them a tasty puppuccino. Enjoy your drinks at one of Starbuck’s six dog-friendly outdoor tables.
