South Side
If you and your pooch are looking for a nice place to go for a stroll, look no further than Waco’s South Side neighborhood, about five miles from Robinson! This area’s South Waco Park, located just outside the South Waco Recreation Center, has a woofderful looped walking trail where you and your leashed dog can get in a few tail-wagging laps! This pawsome park also has lots of open grassy area, and a handful of mature trees and benches spread out along the paved path. South Waco Park also has a shaded playground area so kiddos will stay cool while frolicking, and covered picnic tables. This neighborhood is also where you’ll find Kendrick Park and Beverly Hills Park.

Alta Vista/ Oakwood
There’s a pawsitively furrific park for you and your leashed dog to discover in Waco’s Alta Vista/ Oakwood neighborhood! Just five miles from Robinson, this residential area is home to the woofderful Oakwood Park. This pawsome park is full of grass and big, shady trees, making it a lovely place to spend some quality time with your pup. There is a paved walking path that makes a loop through the park, too! Kiddos love the park’s playground, basketball court and multiuse play field. Oakwood Park also has fire pits, a covered area with picnic tables and benches throughout the park.

Baylor
For pups and people that have tons of energy, the Baylor neighborhood is the place to be! This area located about seven miles from Robinson has tons of fur-iendly parks and a lengthy walking trail where you and Fido can burn off some energy together! Council Acres Park is a neighborhood favorite. This wide open grassy park has a furrific paved pathway that makes a huge loop around the perimeter of the park. There’s also a covered playground, trees and basketball courts. Fort Fisher Park is another puptacular place to visit with Fido, as there’s lots of space and access to the 5.5-mile Waco Riverwalk that wanders next to the beautiful Brazos River! This neighborhood is also home to several other dog-friendly areas including Gurley Park, Grant Teaff Plaza and Edgefield Park.

Waco Downtown District
Leash your pup and experience some of Waco’s history, character and iconic landmarks just seven miles from Robinson in Waco’s Downtown District! Start out by visiting the waterfront Lake Brazos Park, where you and Fido can take in spectacular views of the Brazos River as you romp and play in the park’s open grassy areas. The park also has lots of woofderful shady trees and picnic areas. Next, jump on the Waco Riverwalk that stretches 5.5 miles total, and connects this park with the nearby Indian Spring Park. Indian Spring Park is where you and your pup can check out the well-known Waco Suspension Bridge and several humongous sculptures!

Elm St/ Spring St
Discover some woofderful community parks in Waco’s Elm St/ Spring St neighborhood, about eight miles from Robinson! This neighborhood’s East Waco Park is a puptacular place for a walk with your leashed furry friend! The park has a huge open grassy area where you and Fido can train or play, plus a paved pathway where you and your pooch can walk or jog around the perimeter of the park beneath lots of mature trees! There’s also a covered play area and picnic tables. Bledsoe-Miller Park is another furrific spot in the neighborhood to visit with your dog!
