Gainsboro in Roanoke is the downtown area of the city, offering several pup-friendly opportunities for dining and fun. It’s only slightly over three miles from Vinton, so you can get there in a jiffy! The Hanging Rock Battlefield Trail makes the perfect place for you to walk your dog while also getting some exercise in a serene environment. Woodcliff is another Roanoke neighborhood that’s slightly over four miles from Vinton. This neighborhood is the home of Mill Mountain, a 500-acre park with trails, picnic areas, open areas, and more. You and your dog can hop on the Mill Mountain Star Trail if you’re up for a hike! This trail takes you to the top of Mill Mountain, where you can get some incredible views of the city below. If you’re hungry, check out Fork in the Alley, a casual restaurant with American favorites like sandwiches and pizza. There are some indoor and outdoor dog-friendly areas to enjoy a meal together here.
