Known as one of the twin cities, Chehalis is located in Lewis County, Washington beside the Chehalis River. While there are plenty of historical museums in town, there are also some puptastic outdoor pursuits that will keep furry friends amused. To make sure your pup stays in good health and their tail keeps wagging, there are four veterinary clinics and animal hospitals in Chehalis.
Every dog loves a trip to the park and there are some pawsome ones in Chehalis! This includes Recreation Park, with lots of open grass for your pup to run and roam. The park also includes Penny Playground for the kids, as well as covered picnic areas so you can enjoy a day out with some treats, and a spray park. The Lintott Alexander Park is also a puptastic place to visit, and boasts a beautiful spot on the bend of Chehalis River. Here you chill out with your family and four-legged friend and enjoy the sun in Chehalis.
If you are visiting Chehalis and need a place to stay for the night, check out the Econo Lodge. Here you can enjoy a comfortable night with two pups weighing up to 35 Ibs for a small additional fee. You can also feel at home at the Best Western Plus Park Place Inn & Suites. Here you can bring two pooches that weigh up to 80 Ibs for a small additional fee per night.
If your dog likes to ruff it, be sure to head to the Dobson McFadden Trail when you are visiting this puptown! Here you can go on an adventure through the forest, and discover the John Dobson Park and McFadden Park along the way. Your furry friend is sure to love these sniff-tastic parks, with nature at every turn. When you get hungry, head to Jeremy’s Farm to Table for some delicious food. This place serves up some pawsome American food, with a focus on organic ingredients. Of course, the best part is that there are six dog friendly tables outside where your pooch can join you!
For a family day in the sun, be sure to head to Stan Hedwall Park in Chehalis! This is the biggest park in town and will be paradise for your pup. There are forested and open meadows here to explore, as well as a three mile sniff-tastic trail for some exercise. the Newaukum River flows here, so there is some oppawtunity for fishing. In addition, there are horsehoe pits for some fun and a playground for the kids. If you need a place to stay, there is an RV area here, or you can check into the Relax Inn with your pooch. You can bring a pup of any size for only a small additional fee per night.
If you travel only 4.7 miles north of Chehalis, you will find Centralia, where you can enjoy a pawsome day with your furry friend and enjoy some coffee at Fiddlers Coffee. Here they serve the award winning Caffe D’arte and offer seasonal specials throughout the year. In addition, you can pick up a sweet treat and enjoy it at one of the dog friendly tables outdoors. Your pooch can sit with you and watch the world go by! If you need a place to stay while you are in Centralia, check in to Lakeview Inn. Here you can bring two pooches weighing up to 50 Ibs for only a small additional fee!
For a fun day out with your pooch, you can have a ball in Centralia! Just six miles north of Chehalis, you will discover the Fords Prairie neighborhood and the fun of Fort Borst Dog Park. This pawsome place is all fenced for safe off leash play and exercise, with a separate area for smaller four-legged friends. It is around one acre in size, and features a covered shelter and benches for you to relax and watch. Water is available here, so all you have to do is bring a bowl! If your dog has been a good boy or girl, why not take them to Starbucks for a treat? Not only can you grab your favorite coffee, but you can also order a Puppuccino for your pooch!
If you are looking for some dog friendly eateries, you will find some pawsome ones in the Edison neighborhood in Centralia. This is only 6.4 miles north of Chehalis, which means a short road trip for you and your pup! Just as the name suggests, Dawn’s Delectables have some delicious deserts you can dig into, as well as sandwiches and milkshakes. Your pooch can grab a seat with you at one of the outdoor tables. If you like Mediterranean cuisine then you have got to check out Boccata when you are in town. This eatery offers a puptastic menu with Italian and Greek dishes, and there are two dog friendly tables outside where your furry friend can sit and keep a look out for crumbs!
