The best dog friendly neighborhoods in Lake Stevens

Edmonds Marina
Edmonds Marina Park is a furrific off-leash dog beach perched upon the Puget Sound. This charming park is a favorite spot for mutts to cool off during the summer and is just over 30 minutes south of Lake Stevens. The park is only partially fenced, and the adjacent beaches are not pup-friendly, so make sure you keep Fido under voice command. There are waste bag dispensers and receptacles for when nature calls the pups (and port-a-potties for when it calls on their owners). One of the coolest features is the beachfront obstacle course where your dog can hone his agility skills without leaving the shore!

Sand Point
The Warren G. Magnuson Park Off Leash Area is considered by many to be the best dog park in the Seattle area. This adorable beachfront park lies 34 miles south of Lake Stevens and is well worth a trip. The 6-acre park is pure doggy bliss for canines, and provides a huge expanse for running, fetching, splashing, and socializing. This park is one of only three in the area that offer off-leash water access, making it a very special place for the native pup-pulation. Be sure you bring a beach chair, because you’re going to have a hard time convincing Fido that it’s time to leave!

Everett Junction
Howarth Park is the main attraction for this neighborhood’s pooches, boasting 28 acres of dog-friendly amenities, including off-leash beach access! The massive pup-friendly shoreline is a smash hit with water dogs, but there are plenty of activities for land dwellers too! For those less enthusiastic about water, there are walking trails, tennis courts, and a playground for children. It is important to remember that only the beach area is leash-free. When you’ve had your fill of fetch, you can grill up some burgers for your pack at the picnic area! This park will be a total knockout with the whole crew!

Paine Field
Eight miles from Lake Stevens, the Paine Field area is jam-packed with activities sure to please any pup (and owner!). The Loganberry Off-Leash Area is a large, wooded recreation site located between Kasch Park and the Walter Hall Golf Course. This outdoor facility consists of a network of trails that traverse the natural woodlands, and a spacious expanse perfect for fetch at the park entrance. The park is not fully fenced, so keep a close eye on your fur-iend while he is leash-free. Visitors are advised to bring water for their thirsty pal. You’ll want to bring towels too, because the park is known to get quite muddy! Afterwards stop by Crucible Brewing, a dog-friendly taproom and brewery that welcomes leashed pups both inside and out! They don’t offer food, but do host food trucks on Friday and Saturday (and guests are always welcome to bring their own grub!).

E Galena Street
Eagle Dog Park located in Granite Falls (about 14 minutes from Lake Stevens) is a convenient off-leash facility for local pups. This adorable park features separate sections for small and large dogs, and plenty of seating for owners. The obstacle course is a park favorite, providing hurdles and tunnels to explore and frolic in. If your pup isn’t versed in social graces, hit the trails for some one-on-one time. There are poo bags handy near the main area, as well as water and bowls for your thirsty pal. This little park will make a mark on your pup (and he will leave his mark on it too!).
