This little half square mile, nicknamed "God's Little Acre," is just a stone's throw from Philadelphia. No veterinary clinics operate in town, but dozens are available in adjoining communities like Collingswood.  Of course, any kind of specialty care is readily available in Philly less than ten miles to the west.

The center of the borough's community life is the picturesque green space making up the Waterfront Park. Folks can sit and relax along the river's banks or find a shady refuge at the Waterfront's gazebo and pavilion.  Pups on a leash can enjoy the outing with their people.

Visitors to the Borough or to Philadelphia will find pet-friendly lodging at the Motel 6, located at 801 Crescent Blvd.  Motel 6 allows guests to bring a furry family member of any size for no additional fee.

A person and pup looking to get some exercise outside will find it just five miles north in Haddon Township.  Newton Lake Park is one of twenty-one Camden County parks.  This popular park has over 100 acres of recreational and conservation for a person and a leashed four-legged companion to enjoy.  Newton Lake Park includes fishing (with license), three picnic areas, and a 2.45-mile bike path.  Plenty of open green spaces make this a popular destination for the residents and visitors.

Haverford is a thirty-mile journey north of Brooklawn.  Haverford Reserve Dog Park, just outside the Adele neighborhood, is always packed with canines looking for some off-leash exercise with another four-legged buddy.  It has two enclosures for a pooch's playtime.  One section is reserved for safer small dog fun.  The ground is a combination of grass, mulch, and patches of dirt. Conditions get muddy here after a rain. The location does not have on-site water.  Friends usually have some to share, and there's no shortage of water bowls.  A few pieces of agility equipment like ramps and tunnels are a big bonus.  Picnic tables and chairs are scattered throughout the park.  The human companions welcome the shade of the many large trees.
