A town in Floyd County, Indiana, Georgetown is a peaceful location with a fair number of interesting things to share with your canine companion, and it's also in close proximity to many other cities that host dog-friendly activities. The perfect place for a lazy day with your pup, Georgetown is definitely worth checking out whether you’re a native or just stopping in for a quick visit.
There are a couple of nice dog-friendly restaurants to choose from in the immediate city, the most notable being Polly’s Freeze. An ice cream shop nestled in the scenic town, this Georgetown staple was founded in the early 1950s. With your choice of nearly any flavor you can imagine, as well as banana splits and other specialty items, you’ll be spoiled for choice here! Best of all, your puppy pal is welcome to join you at any of the outdoor tables. Do be warned that Polly’s is only open seasonally, opening in late March and shutting down mid-September. That being said, it’s a must-see stop during the warmer times during the year. Just bring your collapsible water bowl, and plenty of fresh water for your wily woofer to wet their whistle too!
You and Fido will love exploring Georgetown and its surrounding areas!
