Situated just north of downtown Manchester, the Fred Deadman Park offers a perfect place to take your pup and the kids. You can walk around the park on the paved path along the river, and the kids will love the playground. The park also features beautiful gardens, and when you need a break, relax on one the shaded benches or take your pup into the gazebo. Next to the park, you will also find the Manchester Sports Park. This is a 24-acre space along the Little Duck River that offers a great green riverside spot to spend time with Fido.

One of the best features in town is the Old Stone Fort State Park that spans over 400 acres. The park offers acres of open grassy areas and hiking trails where you can walk Fido. The main hiking trail follows along the wall of the Fort and had been once used as a Native American ceremonial gathering place. Located on Hickerson Road, Bark Camp Barrens is not only a great place to walk your pup, it is also an area where you can hunt or train your dogs off leash. The large open space is filled with tall grass and surrounded by trees. You will see a variety of animals in the area, including quail, rabbit and deer. Wander through the area and let Fido run around as long as he will come back to you, as the area is not fenced. You will also want to bring your own water bottles and waste bags, as none are available here.
