and the native flora and fauna. This is a fantastic place to visit – you are

Buckeye Trails in the Bedford Reservation, just
above Northfield in Bedford, is a seriously amazing place to go for a hike with
your pup. Covering 2,200 acres, Bedford Reservation is home to an impressive
forest, a spectacular waterfall, and an array of wildflowers you have to see to
believe. The terrain can be quite rugged here, so dress accordingly and take
your water and poochie drinking bowl. Your dog will love checking out the
trails with you, but you will need to keep him on a lead. There are picnic
areas with toilet facilities dotted around the reserve, and some extraordinary
vistas to be viewed from the overlooks.

Darian Lane
In neighbouring Bedford, there is a pup-tastic doggie space in Liberty Park known as the Twinsburg Dog Park. There are two fenced areas to accommodate pups of all sizes, and a couple of drinking bowls available, however you will need to bring your own water. Your dog will love a game of frisbee or catch on the grassed area, and the chance to mingle with other pups who are out for a play. While in Liberty Park, pop your pet back on the lead and check out the walking trails in the area. There are picnic tables and bathroom facilities here as well, perfect for a great family day out!

Northeast Stow
Bow Wow Beach in Stow, just
14 miles from Northfield, is a free dog park that your pup is going to love
visiting. The park gets its name from the 5-acre lake where Fido can swim and
splash to his heart’s content. The total area of the park is 7.5 acres, and is
fenced to keep your dog safe. Plenty of shade is on offer for you too, as well
as grassed areas to enjoy a game of fetch together. Doggie waste bags are
provided, as is a wash basin for rinsing down your playful pet afterwards. Also
connected throughout this area is the Bike and Hike Trail, one of the 1,600
rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy. You will need to keep your dog on the lead here, but it is well worth
checking out.
