Rural Hall, North Carolina is a town which proves that one person can make a difference. The reason that it is standing today is because of a little trapper's lodge. Around that one person's desire to keep a piece of paradise, an entire town grew. You can still see this lodge today; it stands as a reminder of the town's humble beginnings.

When you come to visit, be sure to stop and visit Covington Memorial Park. This park is the center of everything that happens in town. You will find that the community uses it as a place to gather together to celebrate holidays and local events. There beautiful trails to walk here, as well as ball courts to play on. Your little ones will even love the "tot lot". Please keep your dog on a leash at all times, and do not feed the ducks. Stop by and check in with either of the two vets in Rural Hall for tips to make your trip more dog-friendly.

If you want an adult's night out, but you still want to spend time with your dog, then you need to come on over to Old Winston Social Club. This is an adults only bar that allows dogs if they remain on leash. The best part? It's just twelve miles from Rural Hall. You will find that they do not serve food and do not allow you to bring food, but you can always grab a pizza from across the street. There are plenty of things to do while you sip, including darts! This activity might not be so good for dogs that aren't fond of crowds or noise, though.

Hankering for a bite to eat after hiking at the state park? Head over to the Green Heron Ale House in Danbury, just 2 miles from the state park's entrance. Their bar specializes in hard cider and wine, but offers a full range of your favorite craft beers, too. You will need to keep your pup on his leash while you are here. You should carry some water and a water dish for your pet while you are out on the trails at the state park. The alehouse often hosts live music, so be sure to check the website to see what's on. Your pal will need to be on his best behavior here, especially if he expects to get a bite of your meal!
