Less than 10 miles west of Sandyville is downtown Indianola, and if your dog loves getting his exercise in by going for a walk or a run, Indianola should definitely be on your to-do list. In the heart of downtown are access points for three trails: the Summerset Trail, the Jerry Kelley Trail, and the McVay Trail. Fido can join you on any of these trails, but he needs to stay on a leash, one that’s no longer than 6 feet, at all times. Remember to bring your own waste disposal bags, as none are provided on the trails. Your dog will thank you!

East Village hosts a farmers’ market most Saturdays, and while farmers’ markets are fun on their own, it’s even more fun when you can bring your four-legged friend with you! You can support local farmers and let your dog have fun with all the sights and sounds. Once you’re done there, head over to Scenic Route Bakery for lunch. Fido can join you on the outdoor patio, but seating is limited, so you might want to give them a call first. A leash is required at both locations.
