Southern Paso Robles is about 20 miles from Santa Margarita. Just across the street from the Dry Creek apartment complex, you'll find Sherwood Dog Park. This 1.25-acre off-leash park has separate enclosures for big and small dogs, and the surface consists of recycled wood chips. The park is located where Paso Robles' first airport once was, so the dog park has an aviation theme to honor the tradition. There is a dunking pool for dogs, as well as drinking water, waste disposal supplies, and seating for pet parents. The Heilmann Dog Park is just a ten-minute drive from Santa Margarita, and it sits on about 2/3 of an acre. There are two double-gated entries to the park, as well as shade structures, drinking water, picnic tables, and waste disposal supplies.
