“Dogs follow those who love them unconditionally”

Hello everyone, My name is Melanie Mora. I have a lot of passion for dogs and cats which is the reason why I am pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. I enjoy spending time with animals, it has always brought me peace and happiness. I believe that all animals should be treated with a lot of respect like any other living being on this planet. I would appreciate the opportunity to work one on one with your pet and get to know them! Thank you!!

Hello! My name is Disney. I have a Boston Terrier named Kash and a Pitlab named Smoke. I began working with pets when I worked for Ry the Pet Guy in Redwood City back in 2010. I previously owned and operated a pet sitting business in Alaska called Dutch Tails LLC. I looked after many dogs, many of which I took on gorgeous hikes through the tundra. I currently work for Dogtopia, a dog daycare and boarding facility in Santa Ana. I am very excited to look after your furry loved one!

“Aaaaaah the floofer!!”

I'm a life long dog lover, owner and caretaker. I'm also a professional Singer-Songwriter. My current living circumstances don't allow for me to have a dog of my own so I'm the on call dog sitter and walker for all of my friends in LA, Culver City, and beyond. I spend a great deal of time in the studio working but have a deep love for being outside so, as a Wag dogwalker I hope to feed my other love. Hanging out with Doggies!

Hi! Dog walker here! I have many years of walking experience with my 2 dogs, a golden and a greyhound that are both senior ladies. I have walked shelter dogs for 5 years, so I'm familiar with lots of breeds and behaviors. I have also fostered dogs (mainly labs and a few pitties) and volunteer with the ASPCA and Humane Society US on field operations. I'm a huge worrier when it comes to leaving my own dogs for longer periods, so I will definitely be sure to give lots of feedback and pictures!

Hi, my name is Briana and I am currently in the San Luis Obispo area as a Cal Poly student. I've grown up with plenty of animals and currently have a two year old pup, Bradley, right now. I worked at a professional doggie daycare and grooming service for 2 years, until I moved, so I have plenty of experience. My responsibilities were in the daycare as well as walking to dog owners house to sit and walk. Dogs have always been apart of my life and I can't wait to continue doing what I love!

Dog Walking in San Luis Obispo

San Luis Obispo is a beautiful coastal city that your dog will be dying to visit to get his paws a little sandy. Founded in 1772 by Junipero Serra, San Luis Obispo is one of California’s oldest communities.

San Luis Obispo is home to nine veterinarians, giving your dog tons of options on where he wants to go and get a healthy check-up. Since San Luis Obispo is close to the beach, it draws a lot of tourists, which means there are numerous different hotels you and your pup can stay at together. Be sure to check out Vagabond Inn San Luis Obispo, Best Western Plus Royal Oak Hotel, or Sands Inn and Suites which are all dog friendly.

San Luis Obispo is filled with dog-friendly beaches, parks, and hiking trails that your dog will love to go and explore with you. Take a hike on the Bob Jones Trail or play a great game of fetch at the Terrace Hill Open Space. Your dog will love all the beaches that surround you plus he will be allowed to splash in the water. Ocean Dunes is a great dog friendly beach to check out plus they have a state park as well.

Avila Beach is a great beach to take Fido to and let him get his paws a little wet. The beach does allow your dog to be off-leash, but make sure to follow all posted signs. The beach does have doggie-clean up bags for you, but be sure to bring water for your dog to drink. The beach has a “natural” fence since it is boarded by rocks. Avila beach is always filled with friendly dogs that are ready to play. The beach also has fire pits so if you want to have some smores with your dog after some fetch then you can.

Stoneridge is home to the San Luis Obispo Railroad Safety Trail. This trail is a great 1.9 miles of easy to walk on asphalt that your dog will love to explore with you. Currently, the trail will take you through the heart of San Luis Obispo, but the city is thinking of expanding it to go even further. The trail is popular with skaters and other walkers, so make sure to bring clean-up bags for your dog. If you want to continue your walk, the trail connects to Sinsheimer Park. Sinsheimer Park is great to visit with your pup for a fun day of fetch or just continue your walk.

The Laguna Lake Park is a great spot to take your dog for a fun day out. Although the park is labeled as a dog park, there is no fenced in area to keep dogs secure, so be aware of that before you take your pup off-leash. Laguna Lake Park has restrooms for people, a doggie water fountain, plenty of trees for shade, benches for dog owners, and a big grass area for fetch. If your dog likes hiking, then Laguna Park is perfect since it has a few mountains that your dog can climb around and explore.

If you are looking for a fenced in dog park, then visit El Chorro Regional Park. This park has a fenced in section for dogs, plus BBQs, a botanical garden, and hiking trails. The dog park has benches for owners to relax on, plenty of shade to help keep your dog cool, and separate sections for small and large dogs. There is also a public restroom for people to use on site. El Chorro Regional Park and the dog park inside are both big and spacious, but be aware that they are covered in wood chips instead of grass.

Downtown has a plethora of dog-friendly restaurants that you and your dog can enjoy together. Old San Luis BBQ offers authentic Santa Maria style cuisine with family recipes that date back to nearly a century ago. F. McClintock’s serves different types of smoked meats and has a temperature controlled patio. Novo Restaurant and Lounge dishes out some tasty international cuisine, and their patio is located right by a creek! All three of these restaurants are dog friendly, and if none of them fit your fancy you can continue to walk around downtown and check out the other eateries.
