Center Eufaula
In the center of Eufaula, the Old Creek Town Recreation Area is one of the most popular destinations for Fido and his friends. The 205-acre park features picnic areas, a boat launch, beach, and a unique playground. You and your pup can hike along the nature trail and admire the wildlife, or hang out along the shore of the lake and let your pooch roll around in the grass. If you love to camp, the Lake Eufaula Campground is nearby and welcomes your pooch in tents and RV’s. There is plenty of shade and Fido will love sniffing the trees and exploring the trails around the campground. If you prefer more luxury, the Econo Lodge welcomes two dogs for an additional fee.

Wylaunee
The Lakepoint State Park is located on Old Highway 165 and provides hiking trails where you and Fido can get some exercise. The park is also used for horseback riding, so make sure to keep your pup on a leash when exploring the area. Kids will enjoy spending time swimming and you and your pup can stroll around the lake or take your fishing pole and relax on the banks of the water. The lake is known as “The Bass Capital of the World,” so you and your pooch might get lucky and catch a fish. The Cowikee Recreation Area is right next to the Park and features playgrounds and hiking trails.

South Eufaula
Pups and their families who enjoy camping can spend the weekend at the White Oak Creek Campground off Highway 95 and on the banks of the White Oak Creek. You can stay in a tent or an RV, but you will need to keep Fido on a leash when strolling around the campground. Next to the campground, you will also enjoy the White Oak Creek Recreation Area with large mature trees where you can hike with your pup in the shade. There are picnic areas where you can eat lunch with your furry companion, and there’s even a dog run where Fido can run around off-leash, but the area is not fenced. Remember to bring some doggie waste bags and have a great time at this beautiful park.

Omaha
About seventeen miles north of Eufaula, the Rood Creek Landing Recreation Area is located in Omaha, Georgia. The campground features sites for tents and RV’s and you will love the scenery surrounding the area. You and your pooch can walk around the recreation area and admire the wildlife, but be sure to keep Fido on a leash. When spending time with the kids, there is a playground and a fire ring where you can roast some marshmallows. Once you get bored of Rood Creek, head five minutes up the road to the Florence Marina State Park and its a 45,000-acre lake. You can walk around the lake with Fido along the nature trail while your pooch sniffs all the plants and trees. There are even pet-friendly cottages in the camp where your pooch can stay for an additional fee.
Cottonton
Twenty minutes north of Eufaula, the Hatchechubbee Creek Park is a great place to launch a boat or take out the canoe with your furry friend. The park also offers a picnic and BBQ area where you can invite friends and their furry companions for some burgers and hot dogs. Fido will love strolling around the lake and rolling in the grass and you can hike along the trails and admire nature. You will need to keep your pup on a leash and bring some doggie waste bags. If you are looking for a place to relax with family, friends, and Fido – this park is great for some exercise on a warm day.
