Homewood - Ward 1

The Homewood - Ward 1 neighborhood in Homewood offers pups and their owners perhaps the most pawpular park in the city: the Homewood Central Park. Although not as famous as NYC's Central Park, Homewood's has woofderful activities to enjoy! There are six pavilions with surrounding picnic tables, a large playground, walking paths, an amphitheater, and spacious green space to enjoy. Depending on available time and energy, you can either walk or run around the small, medium or large loop, ranging from 0.1-0.3 miles per lap. Or, you can skip working out at all and go dive into some Mexican comfort food over at Little Donkey's! Pups are welcome to dine on Mexican corn, tacos, dips, and more at the dog-friendly seating outdoors.

Mayfair

Wag over to Homewood's quaint Mayfair neighborhood to have some fun in the sun with Fido on-leash at the Overton Park. Despite being a smaller neighborhood park, Overton remains pawpular among the locals for its refreshing nature vibe. Its woodsy section, stoned walking path, and colorful playground will simply charm you and your canine! Go for an exploratory walk in the mini forest with your canine on-leash to enjoy the cool shade of the trees or play a fun game of hide and seek. Kids will love the diverse playground equipment and pups will love strolling on the stoned walkway! Every day is a good day when exploring Homewood!

Soho

The Soho neighborhood in Homewood is where you and Fido want to visit when your bellies are growling with hunger. Among the pup-friendly eateries available, make sure to stop by the Homewood Gourmet, which features fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Choose from an amazing selection of salads, wraps, casseroles, soups, and more. Two pup-friendly seats are available outdoors, so hurry up and grab one! Soho is also a great neighborhood to visit if you wish to stay in an adorable, pup-friendly hotel. Check out the Aloft Birmingham Soho Square Hotel, which features an urban, loft-inspired place to sleep that places you and Fido just minutes from central Homewood, the chic shops in Soho, and downtown Birmingham.

Edgewood

Visit the Edgewood neighborhood in Homewood, located central southeast to take advantage of the puptastic Woodland Park. Designated as a passive park, Woodland is a very local and residential park where you and Fido can enjoy each other's company without distraction. The park features a crusher run walkway, one picnic table, and a small pavilion. Woodland Park is a great place to take Fido for a quiet stroll or to go potty, as long as any waste is cleaned up after. The Edgewood neighborhood also features the TownePlace Suites by Marriott Homewood hotel which is pawsitively rated by the pup community. Two pups up to 50 pounds are welcome to stay overnight for an additional, sizeable fee per stay.

West Homewood

Homewood has a furiffic neighborhood, West Homewood, which features two puptastic parks that you and Fido don't want to miss out on while in town. First, the Homewood Patriot Park is the locals' favorite with amenities such as playground equipment, two pavilions, a playground and a walking trail you and Fido should take advantage of to get your daily exercise in! One lap around the walking loop equals approximately 0.27 miles. West Homewood Park is another splendid park you should when in the neighborhood. Although under renovation for 2019, the park still offers residents one of the largest community parks in Homewood! During normal operating times, the park is great for playing baseball, soccer or tennis, swimming, playing at the playground, or just lounging in the grass with your pup and a book.
