Bluff Park

Bluff Park is a neighborhood located on the western side of Hoover. This is a large but quiet part of town is home to the well-known Moss Rock Preserve. Dogs are welcome in this area as long as they keep their humans on a leash. This park is full of lush green trails and drool-worthy trees. Your dog will love all of the sights and sniffs this place has to offer. Several small streams run through the streets that make up this neighborhood, so keep some towels handy in case your dog gets brave and decides to take a dive and shake all over you!

Central Hoover

Central Hoover

Central Hoover is located in the middle of the city. This area is home to many green spaces in between each block where your dog will love to run and play with you. There are several dog-friendly restaurants that you can sample here in Central Hoover no matter what you are hungry for. If you love seafood, the Fish Market Restaurant is the place for you. If you love a good slice of pizza, you will enjoy kicking back in the outdoor seating of Pazzo’s.  If you like Indian food, there is a place for you and your dog at the table at Silver Coin Indian Grill. So grab your stretch pants, walking shoes, and waste bags, and head on over to Central Hoover!

Chapel Hill

Chapel Hill

Chapel Hill is one of those small and quiet neighborhoods that makes you never want to leave. This part of Hoover is a great place for dogs who like calm walks down residential streets. If your dogs like birds, they will love the scenery of Chapel Hill with its colorful residential gardens and open streets. If you want an even more scenic view, head over to Georgetown Lake Park for pawsome waterside adventures. When you get hungry, pack up the Frisbees and wet towels and head over to some of the neighborhood’s dog-friendly restaurants. Bar 31, Golden Corral, and Bruster’s Ice Cream all welcome dog owners in their outdoor seating areas so you can enjoy your meal together!

Green Valley Highlands

Green Valley Highlands

Green Valley Highlands is a larger neighborhood in the central part of Hoover. This part of Hoover is full of beautiful neighborhoods that are just perfect for an afternoon stroll. Grab some water and hiking boots and head just west to the Trail at Oxmoor Valley for a  full day of running, sniffing, digging and scratching your way down the local trails. After you have worn your dog out and he’s ready for a nap, you can head over for a bite to eat at the Overtime Bar, just north of the Oxmoor trails. Enjoying a meal together at their outdoor seating is the pawfect end to your day. 

James Hill

James Hill

James Hill is a small residential neighborhood to the west of Bluff Park and Green Valley Highlands, in between their popular parks and recreation areas. This part of Hoover is known for its tranquil environment. You won’t find many stores or businesses in this part of town! This community has a large, communal green space in the center where residents welcome humans as long as they clean up after their dogs. You will find the short walk to Shades Creek an enticing way to spend a cool afternoon with your dog. Just keep a few towels handy in case your dog prefers to take a wetter path!
