The city of Chelsea, Alabama is located in Shelby County, and it's also considered part of the Birmingham metropolitan area. When Chelsea was incorporated in 1996, fewer than 1,000 people lived there, but today, it has a population of well over 12,000. In fact, Chelsea is the fastest-growing city in Shelby County, and Shelby County also happens to be the fastest-growing county in Alabama. The city has so much to offers its residents and visitors, it's no wonder the city is growing so quickly! Chelsea is a convenient location for dog owners to live, and there are several dog-friendly parks and trails nearby. While Chelsea doesn't yet have an off-leash dog park of its own, there are other dog-friendly activities to do in town. One such activity is visiting Chelsea Recreational Park in western-central Chelsea off Highway 39. This spacious city park has sports fields, playgrounds, and walking trails. This is a pawfect spot to take your dog for a walk on a leash in Chelsea, and along the walking path, there is seating, garbage bins, and lighting in some areas. When it's time to partake in an off-leash activity with your pooch, there are many of those just a quick drive from Chelsea!
