If you and your best furry friend are craving an adventure in nature after a hard week, take a twenty-mile trip from Vincent to find Talladega National Forest. This protected area spans a whopping 392,000+ acres of snifftastic wilderness. You will love exploring all the trails with Fido, who will find a ton of wildlife to bark at! There is even a beach to splash around in; just beware of the alligators. This is the pawfect place to escape the daily grind and share a quiet moment with your pup. Just be sure to bring plenty of supplies, including doggie waste bags and drinking water, with you.

Irondale
If you and the hound are hungry, paw on over to Irondale, AL for an un-fur-gettable doggie dinner date! Irondale is ruffly a 40-minute drive away, but you might just decide the trip was worth it for Hamburger Heaven. This dog-friendly joint serves up all your American favorites, from juicy, drool-worthy burgers and fries to chicken tenders and creamy milkshakes. Leashed canine customers are welcome to chow down with you at the outdoor seating area. The staff will even bring Fido his very own water bowl as soon as you get there!

Moss Rock Preserve
Moss Rock Preserve is a prime example of nature’s beauty located just 30 miles from Vincent. Within the 350-acre natural area, you will find over 10 miles of marked trails. There are waterfalls, streams, and caves to explore among the trees and meadows. This is the pawfect place to do a little hiking, rock climbing, or wildlife watching. Keep your eyes peeled; there are some rare species of flora to sniff out here! The only rule is that you have to keep your dog on her leash so that none of the wildlife is disturbed. You'll also need to bring some drinking water and waste bags along.

Ruffner
Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve is a natural oasis nestled right in the hustle and bustle of Birmingham. This 1,000+ acre reserve, located a 40-minute drive from Vincent, comes complete with over 11 miles of trails and even some old mining sites for you and Fido to sniff out. Make sure to check the trail map on the preserve's website to find a trail that fits your abilities. Dogs will, of course, need to be leashed within Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve, and you're also responsible for cleaning up after your pet, so be sure to bring some waste bags.
Turkey Creek Nature Preserve
Turkey Creek Nature Preserve offers more than 400 scenic acres to explore. It's about 40 miles from Vincent, but if you're looking for a secluded place to relax and enjoy yourself, then this is the pawfect daycation destination. This expansive natural area features a variety of hiking trails. Some of them are paved so that they are easily navigated; others are left natural and provide you with a more challenging course. Fido is allowed to swim in certain areas, too! You’ll just need to make sure that the current isn’t too strong. Don't forget the waste bags!
