Beautiful and family oriented, the quaint town of Sylacauga is an hour southeast of Birmingham. Pups can enjoy walking with their parents on a leash and rolling in the grass in the downtown area. When Fido needs to see a vet, there are two qualified veterinarian clinics in town providing routine appointments and emergency care.

When you and your pup need to get some exercise, head over to the Nobel Park on East 9th Street. The park is both kid and Fido-friendly with a playground and a one-mile fitness track. You and your pooch can walk some laps and then sit on a shaded bench and watch the kids play.

Another option for a walk in Sylacauga is the Fairmont Park on Commerce Drive. The park is in a great neighborhood and features a walking track and a grassy area where your pup can play.

Plan to meet up with friends and their furry companions for a meal at the Buttermilk Hill Restaurant. This Southern house with a wraparound porch offers a variety of menu items and you can relax on the patio with your pup and enjoy your meal.

Whether you are looking to get away from the big city of Birmingham for the day, or you want to live in a small welcoming town, Sylacauga offers everything you need. You and Fido can enjoy spending time in the parks, visiting the pet stores, or hiking through the Talladega National Forest.
