This park is so much more than meets the eye. Beyond its gates, you will find a skate park, baseball fields, freshwater streams and many grasslands. Although this is not specifically a dog park, it contains an insane amount of amenities to keep you and your pooch excited! Many dog owners tend to go to the park early in the morning to follow one of the many park paths and make new furry friends!

Stock Ranch

Most Citrus Heights residents do not know how lucky they are. They have the 47-acre Stock Ranch Nature Preserve in their own backyards. This open space is the perfect place to spend the day with your most loyal companion. Not only are there multiple paths you can follow in the park but there is also a butterfly garden area with plenty of seating. You may want to take a leash just in case you run into other people at the preserve. Furthermore, there are not a lot of amenities for dogs and their owners so make sure you take your own snacks and plenty of water.

Tempo

The best place to take your dog for some fresh air and exercise is Tempo Park. Tempo Park is home to large grassy areas exposed to the shining sun and covered areas with picnic tables for hot or rainy days. There is also a fair number of BBQ pits and picnic tables if you want to invite some friends and cook your own dinner. Unfortunately, if you see other people, you may want to put your dog on a leash as it is not primarily a dog park. Avoid the afternoon rush by going to the park early in the morning. Luckily, the park has many amenities including restrooms and water fountains.

Some pet owners take their dogs to this park not only for the beauty of the park but also so their dogs can learn how to socialize. You and your loyal companion will have a great time at Saugstad Off-Leash Park!

Fair Oaks

Fair Oaks is only 5 miles away from Citrus Heights and it has one of the best dog parks you could hope for. Phoenix Dog Park is extremely well-maintained. It has large open grass lands separated by dog size. They also have a small area for special needs and injured dogs to play amongst themselves. In addition to the grass and trees, there is a small doggie pool for dogs to play in on hot summer days. The park also has a number of amenities for guests including doggie bags, water and seating. Spend a weekend morning at this dog park and you are guaranteed to have a pawsome day!
