This paved trail runs along the American River and is perfect for first time hikers and dogs. While hiking, you will pass parks, lakes, and main roads, so if you're not up to the entire 28-miles, there are plenty of areas to stop and turn around. Make sure to bring plenty of water and clean-up bags with you while you are enjoying this hiking trail with your furry pal.

This pawsome park has a ton of amenities, like a playground, picnic area, baseball field, soccer field, and sports courts like tennis and basketball.
