This paved trail runs along the American River and is perfect for first time hikers and dogs. While hiking, you will pass parks, lakes, and main roads, so if you're not up to the entire 28-miles, there are plenty of areas to stop and turn around. Make sure to bring plenty of water and clean-up bags with you while you are enjoying this hiking trail with your furry pal.

Take your pup out to Treelake Park for a fun afternoon. This pawsome park has a ton of amenities, like a playground, picnic area, baseball field, soccer field, and sports courts like tennis and basketball. The park is open from sunrise to sunset, giving you and your pup an ample amount of time to hang out before the park closes. Get a good walk in on the path that goes around the park, or play fetch on the grass. The park does offer some shade from trees located inside of it, but make sure to bring water with you and don't forget your clean-up bags.

The Granite Bay Park is a huge park that your pup will love exploring with you. The park offers pawsome amenities like a BBQ picnic area, picnic tables, restrooms for owners, and baseball and soccer fields. Your dog will love getting a walk in on the nature trail that goes throughout the park, or playing fetch on the grass area. The park is primarily fenced in, helping keep your dog safe while visiting. Take a great walk on the trail that goes throughout the park and let your dog explore while you are out there.
