Central Rescue encompasses all but the outskirts of this rural town. You can take your dog for a long walk down the many residential streets found here without worrying about busy traffic or overwhelming stimulation for your pup. You will love the view of open fields and trees as you venture through this charming village neighborhood. White Oak Creek is a great spot to park and stretch out your legs. Whether you want to head down to the water or just enjoy the view, this creek is a welcoming and calming place for everyone who stops to visit. Your dog will enjoy the experience whether he gets to get wet or not.

Arroyo Vista
Just 12 minutes from Rescue is Arroyo Vista. The journey to this small community will take you right past the Pine Hill State Ecological Reserve. There are a few dog-friendly paths here if you need a stretch break before continuing into Arroyo Vista. Once in the neighborhood, you will be struck by the artistic view that shows off the local flavor in the form of many open air shops along the main street. Once in town, you are only minutes from the Browns Ravine Recreation Area. Bring your clean up bags and some towels as your pup is sure to find one of the many ponds and lakes hidden in this beautiful village.

Shingle Springs is just ten minutes from Rescue and is worth the drive if you are looking for fresh and fun adventures with Fido. You will absolutely adore the Placerville Campgrounds located in this part of town. You can pitch a tent or park your RV in this convenient park and your dog will be welcome so long as he stays on leash. Keep your waste bags with you as you explore the camp grounds; this will help keep things clean and beautiful for the next four-legged pal to visit with their human. If you have plenty of clean towels, Holiday Lake is a great attraction on hot days. Just jump on in and cool off!

Green Springs Ranch is just eight minutes to the west of Rescue, California. This quiet neighborhood is a great residential area where your dog will enjoy long walks and snifftastic neighbors all willing to make new friends. While you won’t find a large park in this part of town, you will find yourself welcomed by the residents who are sure to show you all the best routes for your morning and evening walks. About twelve minutes from Rescue is the Serrano Golf Course neighborhood. This country club-turned residential neighborhood is an interesting and unique spot to stop for a visit with your dog. The Bella Terra Park on the south end of the neighborhood boasts beautifully paved walkways and plenty of benches for those much needed breaks! Your dog will love exploring this park on his leash, and you will enjoy the greenery with him. Just make sure you don’t forget the waste bags and water in case you need to clean up or hydrate on one of your pit stops throughout the park.
