The town of Cameron Park is just down the road from Shingle Springs and
home to the Hacienda Park Dog Park. This dog park, located inside the larger Hacienda Park, is separated into two, one
area for small dogs and another for large dogs. The park offers benches and

for the puppers. The dog park is surrounded by trees to help
provide shade for you dog in case it gets a little too hot outside. The park is
conveniently located right off the freeway, so if you and Fido are passing

Ten minutes out of Shingle Springs is the town of El Dorado which offers a pawsome trail for you and Fido to hike together. The trail is 35.9-miles long and a mixture of asphalt, dirt, and gravel. The first 8 miles of the hike will take you through the Sierra Nevada foothills before it drops you off onto a dirt trail for the remainder of the hike. The trail is often frequented by mountain bikers and equestrians, as well as goats and cattle that wander onto the trail. After a great hike, head over to Poor Red’s Bar-B-Q which is a casual eatery that serves salads, sandwiches, and a variety of meat options. They have an outdoor patio that welcomes your dog to join you.

The Folsom Lake State Recreation Area is only 14-miles out of Shingle Springs, and a perfect place to explore with your furry companion by your side. Fido must stay on leash while you visit, but will love the beautiful scenery of the Sierra Foothills that surrounds you while you enjoy the park.
