Fullerton, California is an exceptionally pet-friendly place. With scenic hikes, expansive and accommodating dog parks, and some unique attractions, Fullerton is surely a town that all the members of your family, four-legged or two-legged, can enjoy!

Local favorites include the Fullerton Dog Park, established in 2007. Open every day except Wednesday, this park includes fenced-in areas for large and small dogs. Fully staffed by volunteers, doggy waste bags and water are provided for convenience. This park is certainly unique – several times a year, it hosts themed events for families and pets! Past events have included a “Howl-O-Ween” costumed walk with contests and a “Pictures with Santa” fundraiser.

There are several trails in the area that allow dogs, including the Juanita Cooke Greenbelt Trail, which is an old rail system converted to a walkable trail. The Bud Turner Trail is another rails-to-trails option that is close to the heart of Fullerton.

Not to miss is the Fullerton Market. During the season (April through October), the market opens on Thursdays at 4 pm and closes at 8:30 pm. On-leash dogs are welcome to browse the stands and enjoy the live music, whilst sniffing away at fresh produce and yummy homemade baked goods. The Fullerton Market exemplifies the spirit of Fullerton and the love shown to pets – once per season, the market even hosts Dog Days, with doggy-themed booths, contests, and music!
