Dog Areas in Laguna Niguel

Not to be confused with Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel is nestled in the hills of Orange County, California. The city, which wasn’t incorporated until 1959, actually has origins all the way back to 1821. However, it wasn’t until the late twentieth century that the population boomed, turning Laguna Niguel into the bustling city that it is. That was planned, though; Laguna Niguel was always intended to have everything a plethora of residents could need, including shopping, restaurants and more.

However, it wasn’t necessarily planned with your canine companions in mind. Laguna Niguel only has a handful of dog-friendly restaurants, and no shops designated themselves as being open and welcome to dogs. However, the streets are lined with dog-friendly sidewalks should you want to take your pooch on a daily walk.

There are also several different veterinarian options in Laguna Niguel, so you can find a doctor for your dog that you feel most comfortable with. One veterinarian office has extended hours for emergencies. Just outside of Laguna Niguel are several other cities with dog-friendly options, so fun is never too far away. Give Laguna Niguel a try, as it provides easy access to fur-iendly fun!

If you’re looking for a chance to let your dog have some fun running around off his leash, make sure to check out Laguna Niguel Pooch Park! This bark park offers your dog the chance to get in his daily exercise while making plenty of new friends of his own species. Be aware that have been rattlesnakes in the area; there are signs posted throughout the park saying as much, so keep your eyes open. You’ll need to bring along your own waste disposal bags and water for both you and your pooch.

Niguel Botanical Preserve showcases breathtaking flowers and other plants, and Fido can join you, so it’s fun for both of you. He needs to stay on his leash at all times, though, so don’t leave home without one. Don’t forget your waste disposal bags to clean up any accidents!

If you and your dog want to explore somewhere new while going for a walk, check out Salt Creek Trail! This trail is exactly five miles long, but whether you walk the whole trail or only part of it, you and your canine companion are sure to have fun exploring the area. Fido is allowed on the trail with you, but he’ll need to be on a leash – one no longer than six feet – at all times. Make sure to bring along plenty of water for both you and your dog, and you’ll want to bring along waste disposal bags in case nature calls.

If the name didn’t tip you off, this park is for our friends with paws – specifically, dogs! There are separate areas for differently-sized dogs, allowing your dog to make some friends of his own size. Both areas are fenced in and double-gated, so there’s no need to worry about your dog getting out of the park. Water is provided, but you’ll need to bring your own waste disposal bags.

If you and your pup are looking for another dog park to visit, head over to Laguna Beach Dog Park! Located about twenty minutes from Laguna Niguel, this local favorite is completely off-leash and fenced in, allowing your dog to burn off any pent-up energy. Make sure to bring along your dog’s favorite toys, as there’s plenty of room for him to run around and chase after his trusty ball! Laguna Beach Dog Park is open six days a week; be aware that it’s closed on Wednesdays for routine maintenance and upkeep, so plan your trip around that. Make sure to bring your own water and waste disposal bags.
