Santa Margarita and Antonio Pkwy
If Fido is itching to have some off-leash fun, take him to the Rancho Santa Margarita Dog Park inside of the Canada Vista Park. This great dog park offers tons of amenities like benches for owners, tables, water, and separate areas so large and small dogs can play with their own respective sizes. The park is open from dawn until dusk every day of the week, and your dog must be licensed before being allowed into the park. If you dog isn't a fan of the park, you can still walk around the Canada Vista Park to get some exercise in before heading home for the day.36

Rancho
Grab Fido and head to the Rancho neighborhood to grab a bite to eat where Fido can enjoy the meal with you. Natraj's Indian Bistro specializes in authentic Indian cuisine that has a variety of veggies, chicken, lamb, and seafood. Cinnamon Productions serves fresh baked goods and great American fare in a warm atmosphere that your pup will love. Their menu includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner with favorites like Belgium waffles, club sandwiches, and BBQ chopped chicken salad. Both these restaurants have dog friendly patios.24

Pittsford park
Ten minutes out of Rancho Santa Margarita is the Aliso Creek Riding and Hiking Trail in Lake Forest. The trail is 18.4-miles long and a mixture of asphalt and sand trail surfaces. The trail has plenty of rest areas for you and Fido to relax on while walking, and there are kiosks that provide information and history about the trail and surrounding area. You and Fido will get a slight workout on this trail since it gradually starts going uphill. Eventually, the trail turns to sand as you get closer to the beach the further you hike.12

Rancho Mission Viejo
The La Paws Park in Mission Viejo is six miles from Rancho Santa Margarita, and a great spot to take Fido to run around off -leash and socialize. The park has three separated fenced in areas, one for large dogs, one for small dogs, and another for dogs who have anxiety or prefer to be away from the rough housing that accompanies the dog park. The park has tons of shade to keep your pup cool. If your dog doesn't feel like being in the dog park, then take him along the walking trail that surrounds the park and still get a good day of exercising in.
