You and Fido will be able to get out and explore nature in this area. When you need professional care for your pup, there are veterinarians in Rancho Santa Margarita just four miles away.

Take your furry friend hiking on the Aliso Creek Riding and Hiking Trail. This 18.5-mile multi-use trail stretches from Rancho Santa Margarita to South Laguna. You can pick up the trail off El Toro Road. Dogs on a leash are welcome to join you here, provided that you keep them under control and you pick up their messes.

If you're looking for a place to let your dog get some off-leash exercise, take him to Canada Vista Park, about six miles south of Trabuco Canyon. This facility has a fenced area at the back of the park where canines can run and play freely. Remember to clean up after your pooch when using this area.

Enjoy an outdoor adventure with your special pal at Wilderness Glen Park in Mission Viejo, just eight miles to the southwest. This 82.4-acre natural area has a walking trail that's just over two miles long. Dogs on a leash no longer than six feet are allowed to join you here. Remember to bring water and waste bags for the trip.

Dogs are allowed to join you in the campground and on the paved trails in this area. Walk or jog along the Live Oak Canyon Trail to stretch your legs. This natural surface pathway wanders through some open space, past wooded spots, and around a small lake that's in the area. This trail continues south along Sycamore Canyon Drive. Dogs are welcome to accompany you on this pathway as long as they're on a leash that's no longer than six feet.
