Tucked between the Santa Ana Mountains and an expansive regional park, the rural neighborhood of Trabuco Canyon is a mainly residential area. Here, you'll be able to take your pooch for walks past private estates and along canyon roads. For a furiffic adventure, pack your tent and take your pup to the Arroyo Campground for an overnight. Dogs are allowed to join you in the campground and on the paved trails in this area. Walk or jog along the Live Oak Canyon Trail to stretch your legs. Make sure that you keep Fido on a leash at all times and that you clean up any messes.

Robinson Ranch

Robinson Ranch

Just south of Trabuco Canyon, the neighborhood of Robinson Ranch includes residential streets, a few community parks, and a shopping area. When you want to get out and stretch your legs with your pup, head to Trabuco Highlands Central Park and connect to the Bell View Trail Loop. This natural surface pathway wanders through some open space, past wooded spots, and around a small lake that's in the area. Dogs are permitted to join you here, provided they're on a leash and under your control. Remember to bring along water and waste bags to clean up after your furry pal.

Portola Hills

Portola Hills

The community of Portola Hills, located about six miles northwest of town, is a lovely residential area with an elementary school, a park,  and access to a network of trails. Walk with your pup along quiet neighborhood streets. When you want to take your furry friend exploring, head to Concourse Park located on Saddleback Ranch Road. There's an open field, a picnic area, and a walking trail in this facility. Go for a hike or jog while you enjoy the view of the mountains in the background.  Dogs on a leash no longer than six feet are welcome to join you here. Make sure you bring some waste bags to pick up after your pup.

Altisima

Altisima

Altisima is surrounded on three sides by O-Neill Regional Park. This residential neighborhood offers a community park with a walking trail and quiet streets with scenic views. Take your furry friend to Altisima Park to get some exercise. You can hike or jog along the paved pathway that loops around the ball fields, tennis courts, and playground. Bring some food and grab a picnic in the park with your special pal. Make sure you keep your four-footed friend on a leash and clean up his messes while you're here. Altisima is located about six miles to the west of Trabuco Canyon.
Dove Canyon

Dove Canyon

There's a residential neighborhood located in Dove Canyon about three miles south of Trabuco Canyon. Here, you and Fido can walk along peaceful streets and around the golf course. On the east side of this community, there's a puptastic trail that you and your furry friend can use to stretch your legs. Connect to the Sonriente Trail off Dove Canyon Road to go for a walk or jog. This trail continues south along Sycamore Canyon Drive. Dogs are welcome to accompany you on this pathway as long as they're on a leash that's no longer than six feet. Remember to bring along water and waste bags to clean up after your pup.
