The park also has water for dogs, a woodchip ground covering, and clean-up bags in case you forget yours, plus they even have a fire hydrant for dogs who like to be basic. The park is fully fenced in so you don't have to worry about your furry pal escaping while you are visiting the park. Southwest Dana Point
Hiking is a great way for you and Fido to stay in shape and spend some time bonding. Three miles out of San Juan Capistrano is the San Juan Creek Trail in Dana Point. This dogtastic trail is six miles long with an asphalt and concrete trail surface. The trail runs along a levee and the Western bank of the San Juan Creek. Eventually, the trail meets the Robert McCollum Memorial Bicycle Trail, so it may be a bit busier. The trail will also pass a lot of horse stables and a path for equestrian users, so if Fido isn't a fan of horses, then you may want to avoid this trail. Don't forget your water while hiking.12
