Seven miles from Mokelumne Hills, you’ll find the Kennedy Tailing Wheels Park in Jackson. The tailing wheel system and mine are pieces of gold rush history that have been preserved by the community in this small park. What an interesting place for a leashed walk with Fido! Extend your walk up the hill to see other tailing wheels. Bring along a picnic lunch and return to the days of the Gold Rush. Fido will be extra thrilled with a chance to be wild and unleashed in the dog park located on the park grounds. There's a double entry and exit, a picnic table for humans, a large grassy/dirt surface, water, and a dog waste station.
