While Carbondale doesn’t have a dog park, the nearby city of Jackson does! Located 20 minutes from Carbondale, Jackson is home to Kennedy Tailing Wheels Park. This fenced-in, off-leash dog park is sure to be a ball for your pooch, allowing him to run around and make some pawesome new friends! Kennedy Tailing Wheels Park has plenty of room for your dog to exercise, and there’s even some agility equipment in the park. Waste disposal bags and water are not provided, and the city of Jackson can get pretty warm, so you’ll want to bring your own.

South Elk Grove
A little over 30 minutes away from Carbondale is the city of Elk Grove, where you and your best four-legged pal can have tons of fun playing at Elk Grove Dog Park. This spacious, off-leash dog park is completely fenced in, allowing your dog to run around worry-free. There’s plenty of shady seating for dog owners to relax, but water and waste disposal bags are not provided, so it’d be a good idea to bring some along. To enjoy Elk Grove Dog Park, your dog must be up-to-date on all of his vaccinations.

North Elk Grove
Northern Elk Grove, around 40 minutes from Carbondale, is home to Jacinto Creek Dog Park, and if your pup is adventurous, he’ll definitely be one happy dog. This fenced-in, off-leash dog park has plenty of room for your dog to run around, but there are also obstacle courses and water spigots, allowing your dog to have tons of fun under the sun. Water fountains are also provided for your pooch. You will need to bring your own waste disposal bags. It might be a bit of a drive, but your dog will definitely be grateful!

College/Glen
If you’re looking for an excuse to head 40 minutes away to Sacramento, and you want to bring Fido along, head to the College/Glen neighborhood to find Glenwood Dog Park. This one-acre bark park is completely fenced-in, allowing your dog to have some safe fun off of his leash. Locals boast that this dog park is one of the safest in the area, as people really tend to monitor their pets. There are water fountains for both you and your pup, and there’s plenty of shaded seating for dog parents. Waste disposal bags are not provided, so you’ll want to bring your own.

Does your dog enjoy the finer things in life? Is he a regular Pawllywood pooch? If you and your dog want to have some fun while you enjoy a nice glass of wine, head 20 minutes east of Carbondale to Sutter, where you’ll find Yorba Vineyards. This vineyard offers walking tours, and your pooch is welcome to join you as long as he remains on a leash. Your dog can also join you on the patio of the wine-tasting area. However, your dog must be on his best behavior and have current, up-to-date tags. A leash is also required in this area.
