River Road
Does your dog love joining you for a car ride to run errands during the day? If you live off River Road, you're furtunate enough to live close to some pet-friendly establishments with open door policies for dogs! First, coffee! You can head over to Grand Coffee Bazaar --a pet-friendly coffee spot that's both a cafe and bookstore. After you fuel up on some gourmet coffee, you can run your errands before lunch. Once you two get hungry, head to 3 Alarm Grill for a great breakfast or lunch. Breakfast entrees like 3 Alarm Chorizo Breakfast and Eggs Benedict keep locals coming back! If Fido's on their best behavior, give them some table scraps for their good manners!

Downtown Monte Rio
Do your dogs like to spend their whole day at the beach to work up an "ap-pet-tite?" If you visit the downtown area of Monte Rio, you can head down to the Monte Rio Beach, which is locally known as Big Rocky Beach. Don't "furry!" The beach itself has been cleared of the rocks that dot the rest of the shoreline along the Russian River. This beach is a great place for a swim! Or, you can launch a boat or kayak off with Fido as your river companion. After a day at the beach, you can head down to the pet-friendly Village Inn & Restaurant for a nice upscale dinner. This place is not to be confused with the chain Village Inn. This restaurant is "dif-fur-rent!" The restaurant has over dozens of local wines to choose to pair with entrees like Grilled Swordfish or Bistro Soup. Don't forget to throw Fido a bone!

Do your pupperonis crave Italian food from the first time you gave them a piece of pasta as a treat? If you drive about 20 minutes down CA-116, you'll land in Forestville where you can grab some authentic Italian food with a seafood flair. Your dog is always welcome at Canneti Roadhouse Italiana. You can order furrific dishes like "Potato Gnocchi with smoked Halibut and Salmon Carbonara" or "Light Stew of Monterey Calamari, Prawns, Mussels, Clams and Crayfish with toasted house Ciabatta." You know it's authentic when the title of the dish announces the ingredients! After a filling meal with Fido, you'll probably still be in the mood for dessert! There's a litter of pet-friendly restaurants in Forestville, so no matter what you're hankering for, you and Fido have options!

This lively restaurant sits right on the river and has an outside deck where dogs can hang out. This is also conveniently where the live music is hosted! You can catch live acts playing everything from reggae to country music! As you listen to music, you can order entrees like the Blue Heron Burger, Salmon N' Chips, or Fettuccine Alfredo. Also, a great spot in Duncan Hills is Rien's Beach. This pet-friendly, cleared area of the beach makes a great place for a quick splash in the river! Get ready to doggie paddle!
Guernewood Park
Does your dog love to swim and chase tennis balls into the shallow waters of a river? If you live in the northern pocket of Monte Rio in Guernewood Park, you can visit the 2-acre Patterson Point Preserve. This recreation area is on a bend of the Russian River and is a local spot for fishing, swimming, and exploring the wilderness around the bed. After a day in the California sunshine, you can head over the pet-friendly Garden Grill for some delicious "bark-b-q!" Plates like the BBQ Tri-Tip Sandwich, Louisiana Hot Links, or Grilled Portabella Mushroom Grinder keep Monte Rio locals coming back! Fido's always invited to the barbecue!
