Healdsburg, CA is in the heart of wine country, surrounded by vibrant vineyards for as far as the eye can see. The residents of Healdsburg love only one thing more than their wine, and that's their dogs. Within the area, there are five veterinarians.

The number one attraction for dogs would be the Villa Dog Park, a 1-acre patch of land that allows your dog to run off-leash. Large oak trees encompass the small haven, which features waste bags, water fountains and trash bins. Humans even have a covered picnic area with benches and sitting chairs.

If you want a taste of wine country, bring your dog over to the dog-friendly Selby Winery Tasting Room, where leashed dogs are allowed inside. The restaurant has free dog treats and water for your dog while you enjoy some of the excellent wine.

These aren't the only wine-based dog-friendly places you'll find in Healdsburg though, like the Armida Winery and Mauritson Wines Vineyard. After a full day of activities, head over to restaurants with dog-friendly patios like the Dry Creek General Store, Bravas Bar de Tapas, and Barndiva.

Once out on the river, your dog is welcome to swim off-leash and play along any of the shores and swimming holes. Be sure to bring plenty of water too, as you and your dog will probably get worn out by all the paddling and swimming.
