Downtown Sausalito
Downtown Sausalito is home to tons of great shops and restaurants, and it also has a lovely park where you can bring your dog: Gabrielson Park. This park is right on Richardson Bay, and it offers beautiful views of San Francisco. After your stroll, head down Bridgeway, the main street in downtown Sausalito, and check out one of the numerous dog-friendly restaurants. If you’re in the mood for Italian fare, try Poggio Trattoria. Leashed dogs are welcome on this restaurant’s patio, and they serve authentic Italian cuisine made with locally sourced ingredients. If you’re more in the mood for a burger, check out Napa Valley Burger Co. Dogs are welcome at their outdoor tables, but be sure to go early to beat the lunch rush.

Nevada Street
The Nevada Street neighborhood is home to Remington Dog Park, Sausalito’s only off-leash dog park. This park is located at the northern tip of Martin Luther King Jr Park, and it has separate areas for small and large dogs. While your pup is frolicking with all the other dogs, you can relax on a shaded bench. The park also has water bowls for your dog when they get thirsty. If you and your dog are hungry after all that playing, head to nearby Kitti’s Place and grab one of their dog-friendly outdoor tables. As your pup takes a well-deserved nap, you can enjoy an eclectic menu filled with California cuisine with Thai influences.

Caledonia St
This neighborhood is popular with Sausalito locals, and it has plenty for pups, too. Take a walk on Dunphy Park’s large lawn and enjoy the views of Richardson Bay. Dogs are welcome here on-leash. Afterwards, go for a waterfront meal with your dog at Bar Bocce, a laid-back restaurant that’s known for their sourdough pizza. Dogs are welcome on-leash at this restaurant’s extensive patio, which has fire pits and a bocce court. Or, head to F3 for delicious classic French and American dishes served at their outdoor tables. If your dog has been a good boy, order him a bit of apple-smoked bacon!

Pacific Heights
The Pacific Heights neighborhood in San Francisco is a great place go with your dogs. This residential neighborhood is located seven miles from Sausalito, and it has two parks that both have off-leash dog areas. The hilltop Alta Plaza Park’s off-leash area is located in the southeastern corner of the park, and there’s plenty of space for dogs to run around. Be sure to bring your own water bowl. Lafayette Park is also on a hilltop, and it has an off-leash dog area that’s surrounded by low barriers and plants. There are also plenty of benches for owners here.

Lakeshore
The Lakeshore neighborhood is located about thirteen miles from Sausalito, and it’s home to one of San Francisco’s best-known dog parks: Fort Funston. This park is located on the Pacific Ocean, and it has tons of trails along the beach and up in the park’s craggy bluffs. Dogs are allowed off-leash in most areas, with the exception of the park’s bank swallow habitat. There are also lots of water bowls around to keep your pup happy and hydrated as they frolic through the waves and on the sand dunes. Your dog will give you tons of kisses to thank you for bringing them to this amazing dog park!
