Estes Park is a town known for being the base of the Rocky Mountain National Park in northern Colorado, and it's a hot spot for seeing wildlife like elk, bears, and wolves. The town is also surrounded by -- and filled with -- excellent walking trails that you and your dog will have a blast exploring. Estes Park has a year-round population of over 6,000, but in the summer, it becomes a popular resort destination for people (and their pets!) looking to take in the best the Rocky Mountains has to offer. In the winter, some adventurous skiing enthusiasts will explore the backcountry, but Estes Park no longer has running ski lifts and resorts.
When you are ready to take a break from the outdoors in Estes Park and recharge and refuel with your pet, stop in at Rock Inn Mountain Tavern for a bite to eat. Their covered patio is dog-friendly, and you can enjoy dishes like buffalo burgers or Cajun shrimp while taking in their rustic mountain atmosphere. So many people come to Estes Park to enjoy the outdoors with their four-legged best-friend, and the town has made an excellent effort to accommodate both people and their pets.
