Lake Elmo Trail
With scenic views of blooming wildflowers, endless skies, and soothing meadows in the secluded area, Lake Elmo Trail connects several spots and sites to visit with Fido. The trailhead is located about an hour from downtown Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and stretches for almost 4 miles, connecting Fishhook Lake, Lost Lake, and Elmo Lake. The best time to hike this trail is from June to October, when it offers a number of outdoor activities for visitors with fur babies. Your puppy should stay on their leash at all times, and it is highly recommended to bring your own drinking water and waste baggies.

If you decide to take a trip down the river, make sure your puppy is leashed and you both wear life jackets provided by Colorado River Runs.

Downtown Edwards
A significant part of Edwards -- an unincorporated community in Eagle County, Colorado -- is located within the area of White River National Forest, which blends together beautiful nature and local entertainment. Freedom Park, located at the very heart of the village, is a marvelous park with an open space for pooches. They are welcome to run off-leash, barking and chasing each other, or join you on one of the multiple walking trails. Access to water and a sandy beach doubles the fun for especially active swimmers and adventurous sailors. This is a pawpular park, so be prepared to make some new doggy pals!

Old Trail Road Northeast
Looking for an adventure in a secluded place so you can bond with your fur children? Head to Old Trail Road, stretching through the northeastern part of the village. On the western end of the road, you'll find a furrific place for Fido to play. Wildridge Dog Park is a magnificent pet-friendly asset open for public use year-round! This well-maintained park, with spectacular views and fun hiking opportunities, also promises lots of off-leash fun in the designated, fenced area complete with benches, grass, and some shade. No drinking water facilities are available, so bring a bottle with you. Your pooch will pawsitively love this spot!

West Vail
West Vail is nestled along State Highway Road 6 and Gore Creek in central Colorado, 100 miles west of Denver. The area has everything a traveler may need, including a gas station, a drive-thru, and a convenience store in the heart of town. However, if you're passing through with your pup, you may want to check out Stephens Park at South Frontage Road West. This is a nature-like dog park with an enclosed area where pooches can run and play off-leash as long as they like! For those who like it cool, there is a creek not far from the park; however, drinking from it is not advised.
