Book nowHi, I’m Megan, and I have owned dogs all my life! I have owned dogs as little as a Maltese all the way to Pit Bulls and German shepherds. I have walked dogs as big as Great Danes, so size and breeds are not an issue for me I love them all. I love all dogs of any size and any difficulties after owning Pit Bulls! I haven’t found a dog I can’t get through. What better way to care and walk that dog to where we both have fun?!

Best Dog Friendly Neighborhoods in Somers
Somers Town Center
Somers Town Center
The Skyline Scenic Area is a great spot to take your furry hiking buddy. Clip on your pup’s leash and head over to enjoy an afternoon out in the fresh air. This loop trail clocks in at 1.5 miles and can be a little steep in places. Be sure to follow the section of the trail that leads to the lookout point. You can take in the stunning views of the Connecticut River Valley with your pal by your side. Be cautious after a rainstorm, as the rocks can be slippery. Also, be sure to bring enough water to keep your pooch from getting thirsty, as he'll definitely get a workout here.
Somersville
Somersville
Scantic River Linear Park is a great place to take your four legged companion. There are several trails that can be accessed in either Somersville, or the neighboring town of Enfield. One of the trails is about 3.5 miles long. Your pooch will love being out in nature and getting his exercise right next to the river. If he gets a little too warm while exercising, let him splash around in the cool water. There are also a few small streams that break off from the river. Basically, you and your furry hiking buddy have plenty to discover while in this park. Your pup is sure to have a tail waggin’ time!

Next time your pup’s energy is overflowing, head over to the Enfield Dog Park. This park is just short drive away in the neighboring town of Enfield and is well worth a visit. Your canine buddy will have ample room to run and feel his fur fly in the wind. He can romp around with new playmates or fetch to his heart’s content. This well maintained park also has benches for pet parents and trees for shade. Little pups even have their own area. If he’s up for it, your pooch can test his athletic prowess on the agility equipment. No matter what he does, he’ll leave tired and happy.
Thompsonville
Thompsonville
Thompsonville is home to a couple puptastic walking routes. Only an eight mile drive west of Somers, this Enfield neighborhood is a great place to spend some quality time with your furry BFF. To start with, take your leashed pup for a walk around Freshwater Pond. This paved path circles a decent sized neighborhood fishing pond. Continue on to the grounds of Enfield’s Town Hall. Follow the walking paths through shade trees, then stop by the gazebo and let your pal rest her paws. If she’s still rearing to go, head over to the nearby Lafayette Park. When it’s time to go home, she’ll be ready for a nap!
Union
Union
If you travel 18 miles east of Somers, you’ll come to the Bigelow Hollow State Park and the Nipmuck State Forest. Located in Union, these parks stretch over 9,000 acres. It would take hours and hours to discover all this area has to offer. Leash up your pup and get started! Trails weave through deciduous and evergreen forests and past lakes, ponds and streams. The Breakneck Pond Loop is one of the most pupular trails. It’s just under seven miles and circles one of the main lakes. Keep your eyes and ears open for frogs and toads. Also, bug repellent is a must when following this trail.
