North Mulberry
Mulberry, Florida is just over 20 miles south of Polk City, and in northern Mulberry, there's a place called Loyce E. Harpe Park. This county park has sports fields and other recreational activities, including an off-leash dog park known as Diogi Park. Inside Diogi Park, you'll find separate big and small dog sections, as well as agility equipment, fire hydrants, and water stations. There are also waste disposal supplies and seating areas for pet parents in the park, and if you'd like to walk your dog through other areas of Loyce E. Harpe Park, you're welcome to do so if they're on a leash.36

Lake Crago
Just 15 minutes southwest of Polk City is the city of Lakeland, Florida, and in central Lakeland, there's a place called Crago Lake. Along with being a beautiful lake, Lake Crago even has its own dog park! The Lake Crago Dog Park is an off-leash space with an area for dogs who weigh more than 45 pounds, and another section for smaller dogs. The park is open every day from dawn to dusk, and there are water fountains as well as showers and restrooms by the park. Pet parents can sit and relax on one of several benches in the park, and there are also plastic pools set up for dogs to cool off in.24

South Lake Wales
South Lake Wales, Florida is about a half-hour drive from Polk City. Nestled in a quiet area of south Lake Wales sits the John C. "Doc" Haromy Dog Park, and it's sure to become a new favorite of yours and your dog's! This special dog park isn't a particularly big or extravagant dog park, but it has everything you and your pooch need for a good time! There are separate big and small dog sections, and it also includes drinking water stations, waste disposal supplies, seating, and lots of shade which provides welcome relief on hot Florida days.12

Plant City's own dog park is found in the northern area of town, and it's called Plant City Dog Park. This fenced off-leash park has a 7,300 square foot small dog section and a 9,000 square foot big dog section. Plant City Dog Park also has a double-gated entry system with a transition area to go from on-leash to off-leash for added security. The dog park is free to use, and it's open from sunrise to sunset. Within the park, there are water fountains, waste disposal supplies, pet parent seating, and plenty of shade.
