Southeast Lake Wales
In comparison with the commercial historic district of Lake Wales, which is buzzing with cultural places and amenities, the southeastern part is a quiet spot including the Lake Wales itself. The area has several recreation options, but only one dedicated entirely to four-legged visitors: John C. “Doc” Haromy Dog Park. It is a simple dog park with two separate areas for large and small breeds, drinking water, and benches. Let your pooch play and frisk in the fenced area and socialize with other frequent visitors. But, in case there is nobody in the area, bring some toys with you and don't forget about water!

Jan Phyl Village
Part of the Lakeland-Winter-Heaven Metropolitan Area, Jan Phyl Village is a quiet and lovely place to visit with Fido. The significant part of the village is occupied by Simmers-Young Park and the on-site Auburndale Softball Complex. This is a public park, but your mutt is welcome to stay on-leash and spend some quality time walking with you. The joy starts at the off-leash dog park where your pooch can run and romp on the fenced grassy field,. The area is also divided in two for large and small (or timid) pups. The choice is up to your pup: run, exercise and play fetch at the dog park, or spend a quiet weekend fishing and picnicking in the area.

John Cox
John Cox is a small neighborhood near Lake Parker, set not far from the city center of Lakeland. This is a nice and quiet spot with amenities spread along East Memorial Boulevard, including shops and eateries. But even though the area is small, it doesn't mean that you can't find a place for your pooch here. Cargo Dog Park is a new addition to Adair Park, with two separate spots for small and large breeds, drinking doggy fountains, lots of grass and room to run and have a blast. The place is extremely clean and well-maintained, but finding good shade to hide under on a sunny day may be a bit difficult.

This off-leash, fully fenced and well-maintained park is a local pride for every dog-owner. Let your mutt choose from one of two separate areas for active (big) and timid (small) pooches and finally let some energy off chasing tails and socializing. No need to take water with you; doggy fountains and shade are provided in both areas of the park!
