Bethune Area

Bethune Area

The Bethune Area of Haines City is heavily residential. Cook Field is a public field used mainly for sports. What it lacks in other amenities, it makes up for in space and convenience. If you’re looking for a place to walk your dog, Cook Field can do the trick. It’s also a large enough area that you can walk laps around it without getting dizzy, perfect for exercising even an energetic dog. It’s not fenced, so keep your pup on leash! The park is popular for little league events, so be aware if your dog doesn’t love crowds.

Southern Dunes Estates

Southern Dunes Estates

The 8 Acre Neighborhood Park delivers exactly what the name promises! This park puts a little bit of everything together. There is a small children’s play area, and a small amount of space set aside for basketball courts and sports fields. The rest of the area is open! 8 Acre Neighborhood Park is perfect for walking your dog on green grass. There is plenty of space to roam, so even just walking the perimeter could be a workout. This park is heavily tied to the school cycle. If you avoid the after school and weekend morning rush, this place is a quiet getaway from the business of Haines City.

Baker Dairy

Baker Dairy

The Lake Marion Creek - Stokes Preserve is a small, natural space at the edge of the Baker Dairy neighborhood of Haines City. This largely undeveloped space is perfect for packing up and getting away from it all. The main draw is the attractive water feature; the creek runs right through the park. Dogs do have to be leashed, but there’s nothing in place to prevent wading! There are also plenty of shade trees in the area if you want another way to cool down. Remember to bring your own bowl and fresh water, since this space doesn’t have drinking fountains.

South Haines City

South Haines City

On the outskirts of Haine City is a large natural resource that’s one of the best places to explore with your dog. Allen David Broussard Catfish Creek Preserve State Park has everything you need for a memorable day, weekend, or week! There’s camping at the park if you want to spend the night. If you don’t, you can still day trip. There are water features for canoeing and fishing, and lots of trails for hiking. You can pick a challenging distance to march, or amble down smaller trails. As long as you keep your pet on leash, pick up after him, and don’t let him hassle the local wildlife, this is the park for you.

Downtown Davenport

Downtown Davenport

Wilson Park in Davenport is six minutes from the heart of Haines City. It’s also a popular park that brings people in from far and wide. It’s famous for its splash pad, but there’s a lot more going on in this park! Your dog will like the walking paths. Leash up and take the paved trails that connect one section of the park with the next. It’s an easy walk that provides plenty of people watching opportunities along the way. Social dogs will love it, and all of the sights and smells will provide a little mental stimulation to go along with stretching those pup legs.
